I just read this on polipundit. 49% to 48%
I'm John Kerry and I approved this message.
I tend to be skeptical but we overlook the dillemma Kerry is caught in. GW is forcing him toward the "center" so hard right now in his fight for the battleground states that if Kerry does to good a job his base states may just get up and walk away from him.
This could be what we are seeing with this and Hawaii etc. Thats why the left coast which used to be solid for Kerry has weakened en masses lately. Still leans Kerry but not nearly as solid.
Its a balancing act. We'll know soon.
I doubt it though.
First Hawaii, and now This? Are we in Kanses, anymore, toto...
If NJ is close, Connecticut is close too. Look at the electoral map for 1976 and 1988.
And if Connecticut is close, so is Vermont. Can Maryland be far behind?
Kerry is rapidly being reduced to the current Democrat base of support - MA, RI, NY, DC, IL, CA, WA.
An election result like that would be a true embarrassment.
Don't let any DUers read the bad news; we certainly wouldn't want them losing any sleep over this would we?
The last Poll results I could find on CT showed Kerry with a 6 point lead on 9/28, but the trend was definitely toward Bush, Kerry had been up by as much as 9 points
Just tried. Lines are down. Ice storm.
We often associate polls with organizations which sponsor them, but CBS is a very reliable poll, even though Zog's and Newsweek's politics color their polls. I wouldn't trust UConn's polls. They're amateurs.
I know laugh at me all you like, it is being sourced right now and I should have the info to you in a matter of minutes!
We all have to be careful about these polls showing Bush ahead in CT and HI. Polls mean little to nothing, as the 2002 elections demonstrated. What matters is turnout, and I pray that it is the Bush people who will turnout this year and not the leftists!
Something fishy is going on."
Don't think I'm a kookburger, but a thought occured to me today that maybe "they" (the evil ones) have conspired to make the polls close in solid demon states so that Bush dilutes his impact in the states he can really win...then again, they have their own pollsters....think I am going bonkers folks....I'm going to bed, night-night
no way!! =o)
I like it, keep 'em coming.
This is the state we thought would show up in this rumored poll.
It has to be an outlier, though...
I have a neighbor who is running for stae rep on the dem ticket. His son is in Iraq and his wife is voting for Bush. Why you ask? Two reasons, security and security..
Hawaii seems more easily explained, "Remember Pearl Harbor", they "get it" about surprise attacks and war.
Do all these polls from deep blue states (Hawaii etc) have to be outliers? OR can it be that Rove's strategy of advertising on cable is working? Or can it be that people are scared of electing Senator Scary?
