Faith Increasingly Part Of Kerry's Campaign
Washington Post ^ | 10/18/04 | Jim Vanderhei

Posted on 10/17/2004 9:15:04 PM PDT by Timeout

John F. Kerry is evolving from a reserved Catholic reluctant to discuss faith in the public square into a Democratic preacher of sorts..

From the pulpit to the pastures, Kerry is increasingly spreading a more spiritual messag...

...In what has become a familiar refrain of Kerry's sermons, he told the story of the Good Samaritan to illustrate God's calling to help the least of America's people.

"This," he said, "is how you reach the kingdom of Heaven."

What do you think GOD thinks of Kerry's Flip Flipping on matters of faith?

Too little too late. True people of faith can tell. When someone starts sprouting "religion" like Kerry does, it sounds false. Just like his answer in the third debate. Pres. Bush's answer sounded real, Kerry's sounded rehearsed.

Sermons huh? Beware false prophets.

The churches that are allowing him to campaign during church services need their tax-free status removed.

Wonder what Ron Reagan thinks now???

Lightening should be striking any minute now!

He of course is visiting Black Churches to fool those good religious people into thinking he is Christian. Disgusting piece of dirt.

Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come," Kerry intoned Sunday morning at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. " 'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home."

What? He read Amazing Grace as if it was a speech?

What else did he say? Wait let me guess: "O, Lord my God. When I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds thy hands have made. When peace like a river attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. A mighty fortress is our God. A bulwark never failing. Michael row your boat ashore. Hallelujah. Put your hand in the hand of the man who calmed the waters. When I die and they lay me to rest. Gonna go to the place that's the best. Going up to the spirit in the sky. That's where I'm gonna go when I die. Jesus is just alright with me. Jesus is just alright, oh yeah."

What a goofball.

Now that's a face I can't wait to see on election night! I previously had Chris Matthews at the top of my list, but he just slipped to 2nd.

Just give us a thumbnail of what the article says.

I can not give you the details of the article but I do have the inside scoop on the conversations at the Kedwards campaign that led to this focus on religion.

Kerry Staffer 1: Bush has really got this religion thing down. We need to develop this for John/John.

Kerry Staffer 2: JFK is Catholic. You would have thought that would have been enough. I mean, the association to the other JFK should have had this in the bag.

Kerry Staffer 1: I told you. Bush is good on this issue, errr, forget that and please don't tell anyone I said Bush is good. Bush has got this religion thing down.

Kerry staffer 2: So what do we do?

Kerry staffer 1: We have to make John/John look almost as religious as Bush. Not enough to turn our base. Just enough to ciphon off some votes from the independent religious types.

Kerry staffer 2: I would not have the slightest idea what thye should say. Religion, wow. That's a tough one.

Kerry staffer 1: For starters, what if you we have JE say something about healing the sick?

I came in on the last presidential debate when Kerry was speaking about faith and its fruit of good works, but didn't hear the entire context.

Nothing I've seen nor heard from his heart strikes me as Christian, although he does seem to always accuse unnecessarily.

Whenever I hear somebody presenting themselves as Christian, but then lecture about faith without works is dead,....I listen a bit more, because I suspect they've never quite grasped the Gospel in the first place and have confused faith with simply a particular religious point of view and measure its success by legalistic and man-produced effort independent of God.

Barf bump only. . .

But first. . .can only conclude - in reading this drivel of a 'spiritual Kerry'; that the 'mind-numbing/brain-numbing' PC imposed upon America's citizenry by our Goverment; has now taken it's intended toll.

Can these people spell. . .p h a r i s e e ?

Do they think that these spiritual hypocrits live only in the pages of the Bible?
