Wow. Amazingly enough, if I were to ever win the lottery, I plan on doing the exact same thing - because I'm a smart guy.

"He shot once in the air to scare people away. He didn't aim it at anyone,"
Why the heck did he pull the gun in the first place?! Why was he carrying a weapon? Did he have a carry permit?
Huge fight + police = trouble even without pulling a weapon. I just can't feel sorry for the guy, what he did was just plain stupid.

He probably should have left that handgun on the counter at the pawn shop, too.
But I'm only guessing here...

Hmmmm, shooting into the air to break up a fight as the cops are arriving.
Yup, sounds like a good idea to me. This guy is a lottery winner and he is hanging out at a bar with a gun. Not what I would do with my winnings.

Police alleged that Camat was carrying a handgun and fired at a car that was leaving the area. Authorities said he crouched behind another vehicle and pointed a handgun at officers.
Relatives insisted Camat only fired into the air to break up the fight and said officers never issued a warning before shooting him.
Let's see. Cops on the scene. Idiot takes OUT a gun and pops a few caps. Yeah, cops EVERYWHERE will wait until they get hit before reacting. ANOTHER moron removed from the GENE POOL AND his kin will NOT get the lotto winnings. With any luck he'll have NOT reproduced himself and that is ANOTHER vote gone for Hanoi John!

Sheesh! If I ever win the lottery, the last place I'm going to hang out is some divey bar before the game. Instead, I'll be sitting in my air-conditioned luxury box, drinking whatever I want with my friends.
What a doofus.

"Camat was one of 13 Starbucks employees in Los Angeles who shared an $87 million California lottery jackpot in 2000.
He recently bought a house in Federal Way, a suburb between Seattle and Tacoma, relatives said. He previously used his share of the lottery winnings to buy a house for his mother and cars for his siblings."
Let's see. $87 million is not really $87 million when put in present day dollars. Maybe $50 million.
Then divided by 13 = $380k. Taxes would reduce it to maybe $220k.
A nice sum but he bought two houses and how many cars? It looks like he spent it all. Not bad, but he may actully be deep in debt.
