I don't think I remember someone getting whooped this bad. In fact, Chris Matthews indicated that Bush had a smirk, but Edwards looked on his face like he'd been physically smacked.

I've been way into Cheney since day one. The guy is smolderingly hot.

It is best not to participate in these polls. It will swing the vote more than it is already and the networks would look ridiculous reporting a result like - Edwards 98% and Cheney 2%. MSNBC is already telling viewers that it is very unscientific poll.

Like the bad guys said after wounding Matt Dillon on one of those return to movies: " Those old wolves have a way of coming back to bite you."

She asked a question about a significant problem to the black community. It is a significant problem for America. Gwen was talking about black WOMEN. I thought she asked the question of Cheney in an accusatory manner. She asked what the government was going to do about it. Cheney allowed that he did not know that the AIDS rate was so high for black women, but that rate of infection was going down as a whole. I guess that feeds the impression that GWB doesn't care about the black community, especially black women.
Edwards said he would double the funding on AIDS.

Yes, she did ask some good, tough questions of both of them, and I give her credit for that. For that reason alone she was vastly superior to Lehrer, with his "When did you stop beating your wife?" questions to President Bush, and his puffy little cotton balls that he lobbed so gently at Kerry. Still, she let Edwards get away with a lot of going over his time limit, going back to explain answers to questions that were already asked, going off on tangents not related to the questions, etc.
And letting Edwards get away with that despicable, underhanded ahot at the VP by using his daughter's homosexuality was inexcuseable. To his credit, Mr. Cheney handled that with far more class and dignity than I would have - I'd have come around that table and stomped Edwards into the ground.
In the end, though, it didn't matter - Dick Cheney demolished the Silky Pony.

Now I agree... With that as the standard, I have to agree Bush lost Night 1... If he can do HALF as good on Friday as Cheney did tonight, Kerry Edwards will be a footnote in the history books.
How can you say that in light of the major gaffes Kerry made? Bilateral talks with NK? Global Test? Iraq is not a mistake vrs President Bush's colossal errors in judgment in invading Iraq. Nuke fuel for the Mullahs???? I'm telling you Kerry lost the election Thursday night. It just confirmed what most Freepers have always know.
Kerry is a 9-10 candidate in a 9-11 world. You Freepers have just got to get over your media drive fixation on style.

"Was that "Your daughter is gay" remark about the lowest anyone has heard in the politcal realm?YES. I cannot believe that the private life of VP Cheney's daughter was dragged into a national Vice Presidential Debate...(Mr Cheney was FAR TOO gracious in return.) I can't believe that nothing was said about it by Britt Humes follow-up panel either. Cheney must have stepped on Edwards head somewhere, because at that moment, we saw the underside of that trial-lawyer snake.

What can the government do?? Black women are getting AIDS too much in this country from either cheating husbands or their own promiscuity. I feel very bad for the poor wives who get it innocently. The others should save sex for marriage and pick really well. Unfortunately, black (and white) popular culture pushes casual sex into everyone's faces.
