That's a great way to describe the debate. I love how soft spoken Cheney is. Why do all the talking heads think he's grouchy?

Totally disagree. She did an outstanding job. Hard on both sides. Thought a couple questions were curious, but lets be fair, gay marriage is a big issue, and in fact it is a winner for the GOP so good to be brought up. The AIDS question was a stunner that had to have caught both by surprise. Much much better then Lehrer

DH and I were sitting there HOPING Cheney would not rise to the whole difficult gay marriage / amendment situation, and Edwards was droning on as smarmy as could be, "Ah'm sure the Cheneys LOVE their daughter" -- You just want to smack him.
Then Cheney (my hero!) got his rebuttal time and said "I want to thank Senator Edwards for the kind things he said about my family." AND SAID NOTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
THWACK! THE BAT CONNECTS AND THE BALL IS OUTA THE PARK!!!

My opinion ... FWIW ... Cheney was a class act. Even when I personally would have walked over and taken Breck girls head off for talking about my daughter ... Cheney was class. Edwierds on the other hand was the typical POS trial lawyer ...

I am waiting to see if anyone brings up the absolutely classless remarks Edwards made about the Cheney daughter while she was in the audience. Edwards clearly crossed the line when he did that, the way he attacked the issue, his phrasing, using the situation of Cheney's family subtly to belittle him and his relatives while "appearing" tolerant (gag), etc.
Cheney seemed po'd over it, but responded with supreme grace and dignity.

He may have BEEN there, but I'm sure they didn't meet.
Cheney would have never made a statement like that unless he was sure.

the dems are being accused of something called.....'script auto vote'..Edwards votes went from 45,000 votes to 54,000 votes in 4 seconds. I don't understand
To: Mo1
"Leaky Leahey is on MSNBC saying that yes Cheney does go to the hill every Tuesday but only meets with Republicans"
---Obviously not becuase Cheney had to have met with Leahey in order to tell to go f*** himeself
I don't crea what anyone says...Cheney slammed Edwards around like a rag doll. Had Bush done this last week it would be over.

A lawyer friend of mine told me he used to stand in a certain place in the courtroom and do distracting things (scratch himself, etc.) when he wanted to divert attention from some point being made.
That's what I thought the paper tearing was. A lawyer trick.

Now the frontends are the bottleneck, so I reassigned a machine to help out. I also experiemented with turning off the CPU expensive compression, which proved that bandwidth was the bottleneck. Ack! Very frustrating Thanks for letting us know the status

Are you series? I have honestly never heard that. Why in the hell would he not have brought that up? Did he think it was better to leave the issue alone?
As an aside, does anyone know how many people Halliburton employs? Apparently the Kerry-Edwards campaign would prefer that they get sh*tcanned because Halliburton is never given another gov contract.

Watched the debate at my bar in Cambodia with a few "Euro-weenie" friends and this was the first time they have ever seen both Edwards and Cheney outside of a few sound bites. They weren't impressed with Cheney before...they are now!
To: ArmstedFragg
So the 40 million that do not have health insurance? Where teh heck did taht coem from? What if I take time off? Also, Edwards said poverty is (1 out of 2 kids?) I can't remember, but you would think we lived in Bangladesh listening to him.
To: jwalsh07
Was it just me or did the so called "moderator" keep giving edwards an "extra" "rebuttal" to Cheney's "30 second" rebuttals??
