There have been several "live threads" posted today regarding the debate starting early this morning. Let's make this the official thread.
FR Live Thread: Bush Kerry - First Debate - Thread 2 - Here we go!
No rush.
I'd be good as an elder statesman.
Lehrer: You spoke to Congress...How do you ask a man to die for a mistake?Huh?Kerry: It isn't a mistake.
Whatever you say Fufkin. Your 4-1 sign up day is so ironic, no actually comic, considering your past on FR.
I have to agree with you.John Kerry was a good talker. He hit all his talking points well.If someone was looking for an attorney Kerry would be their choice...however, if like me, someone is looking for a person to lead this country, who has the best interest of this country and its citizens, in in his heart and soul, it came through loud and clear in President Bush. Just my opinion.
Good point. Add it to my list at

5. We SHOULD view proliferation of WMDs into the hands of these terrorists as the most important issue but Kerry's priority is proliferation of nuclear weaponry equally to Iceland as to Al Qaeda.
"this debate ended up making Bush look really weak".
Jorge, you are wrong.

But it really doesn't matter much whether Horseface won the debate ... those who could be fooled were not curious enough to watch.
In the beginning of the debate this was true. In the end Bush came across as weak and defensive, the camera caught him with expressions of frustration while Kerry attacked him and his stuttering responses were pathetic.
If this is a sign of things to come in the debates, I think Bush will lose the election. I am disgusted.
Lehrer finally throws a fastball at Kerry by asking him how the war could be the wrong war and yet ask Americans to continue to die for a mistake (quoting his infamous testimony on Vietnam when he famously asked "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?") Kerry's response: Iraq war isn't a mistake.
As for President Bush, ya, I'm a little disappointed in his performance; sorry to have seen him so on the defensive...but by golly, he's my man! He's got my vote. God bless him, is all I can say.
Kerry supporters rejoice at the news of every American death, and they cry crocodile tears in front of the news cameras - but by their words and their deeds they are directly responsible for the deaths of American soldiers.
The Islamists are feeding off the words of Kerry, Kennedy, Lockhart, Rather, Matthews, Sharpton, and they are feeding off the demonstrations of the so-called "peace protesters."
These bastards are coming to Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday, to mock American values, to degrade American soldiers, and to desecrate the sacred ground where 200+ years of American heroes are buried.
If you are anywhere near DC on Saturday, please consider coming to defend the honor of our country's war dead and defend our country's honor against the anti-American blood dancers.
You seem to be going off the cliff. Relax. Take a few breaths and believe whatever you want to believe...I really don't care.
Did you notice that Pres. Bush then went over to shake Jim Lehrer's hand, while Kerry played to the crowd, doing his little Buddhist bow. Teresa was all about Teresa. Laura did the reaching out. Teresa was trying to drag Kerry off stage. Were the Kerry daughters there? I didn't notice at the time.
Apparently the rules of this website do not apply to him.

Jorge, you are wrong.
Am I? The first polls are coming in saying Kerry won big time.
I've been surfing the news and even the Bush supporters are admitting Kerry did good.
That Fufkin guy must have been one helluva guy.
I don't like you becuase you are a racist cyst.
WMD in the hands of terrorists IS our biggest security nightmare.
