Just talked to a senior Republican in Washington. The USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll should be out shortly - Bush up 53-42 among registered, 52-44 among likely voters.
UPDATE: This source doesn't know about the ABC/Washington Post poll that is supposed to be out later today. Overall thoughts from this GOP source: Most of non-public polls are showing Bush up five or six points. He is telling every Bush supporter who will listen not to get complacent - this lead could shrink quickly, although he is reassured that once you throw out most of the odd outliers (Bush up a lot, or Kerry up a bit) the lead has been pretty steady since the convention. Still, he adds, Bush campaign knows "to campaign like they're five points down."
Wow, I didn't know Poppy did worse than Barry Goldwater.
Just have my handy-dandy spreadsheet with all the presidential national level data which is easy to sort and re-display...
No time at all...

This one?
Still, you had to create the spreadsheet. :-)
I won't rest until the morning after the election. Until then, pray, pray, pray for the re-election of President Bush.
Actually I think that Kennedy won because Nixon did not ask for a recount in Maryland.
Excellent research!!! Thanks so much, dvwjr!
We need to remember several things.
1. The debates. Bush may or may not wipe the floor with Kerry in the debates. We don't know since it did not happen. Unlike in 2000, Bush is not expected to get his ass kicked this time, but is expected to win solidly. We'll see what happens.
2. Complacency. That's how we get 'caught looking'. Oh, it's over. I'm not even going to vote today. It's raining....What? Blanchard lost? How'd that happen?! The hard core dems and pieceniks are going to vote and against Bush no matter what. They are fired up. Maybe they voted in 00, maybe not. We'll see. This is much like the hard core tax haters voted out Jim Blanchard in 1990. Detroit didn't vote, and Blanchard lost - BTW - He was up 20% during most of the election, and up 12% on ELECTION DAY WEEKEND - and 1990 Michigan is much more democrat than today.
3. Vote fraud. We already have cases of dead registration vote fraud in Ohio and Michigan. St Louis tried to rig Missouri in 00. South Dakota fraud rigged the senate race in 02 for Tim Johnson. The dems are prepared for battle with lawyers in Florida. This is going to be a FIGHT.
4. Electoral College. Popular vote is symbolic. That's it. Will Bush take enough states to win? A few thousand, or even hundred votes could swing Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, Oregon, and maybe Colorado.
5. October Surprise - We still have a month to go. That's plenty of time for a surprise like the DUI.
Since Kerry loves to show his football prowess(LOL), I'll use football terms. The game's not over folks. We're midway through the 3rd quarter and our team is up by a touchdown and a field goal. They may have some girly man like Tim Couch(Kerry) as QB, but we still can't play prevent defense since they have strong talent around him. They have a strong running game with their big cities, university towns, pieceniks, and guilty rich leftists. Couch(Kerry) doesn't affect that in any way. They also have the best cheaters, I mean kicker in the game as well and have Phil Luckett as the official who can feel sorry for Couch and give him the touchdown while it's on the 1 yd line when Instant Replay is inconclusive.
So we need to grind out the clock, and keep their defense on the field. We need to run over their union linebackers, and safeties with our ground game. When they go on offense, we can't play prevent defense and give them underneath first downs. We need to put them away.
And when they go for the Hail Mary pass afterward like Florida in 2000, we need to be prepared to deny them after a zillion pass interference calls by Phil Luckett, I mean the Florida Supreme Court until the commissioner says enough.
Thanks for the tip. I'm not a troll - I'm just human. Just needed shoring up. Thought Bush did well tonight with O'Reilly.
Yay!!! Love it, thanks.
Republicans must turn out at least 2 million more votes than the rats to counteract the free cigarettes, booze, and bus rides not to mention the names being scraped off of gravestones!
I don't want to believe this. I'd much rather read about how GWB drew 60,000+ at his rally today. Pray for the president.
We'll count on her support in the next midterm elections...and when we battle Hillary in 2008!
No, I know Bush will come through with flying colors.
