Should the "good guys" really start using the same tactics as the "bad guys"? What's next? A beheading?

Okay, you and John Kerry convinced me. Both the US and Israel should only be armed with spitballs ...

This is what it's going to take. And Syria is a good place to start doing it. We need to have the same mindset as Israel does. Hit the sources and safehouses where terrorism is encouraged allowed to florish. And right after Yom Kippur. Happy New Year! :)

vernonica is correct. No mention of beheading, just hitting "sources". That would be where the terrorist are coming from. I must agree. We must not only find the active "hives" that generate and spawn terrorists, but also begin to effectively neutralize all secondary factors which contribute to their ability to become viable hives. That being cash, assets, political sanction, weapons, etc. If you nueter the rabbit you deal with rabbit, not rabbits.

The general answer to your first question is "yes".

Beheading? Absolutely not. Be-arming, be-legging, be-footing, be-fingering and be-nosing all at once is be-fitting for the Islamic sadistical monsters and affords the same results as beheading and will make the liberals feel better.

Oh, I hope not, They'd be too humane about it, and use a guillotine. I'd want a web-video of them sawing his head off while he screams. Show THAT to the Muslims, and see if they continue to support the practice.

Good point, however, the one difference I see in this is that the car bomb was directed at a specific individual, not a random act against innocent civilians.
The terrorist have changed the rules, and it is taking us a long time to catch up. The terrorist know they can not win a conventional war, they are hiding behind woman and children knowing our reluctance to hit back.
I am not of the school of thought that says we should "nuke them", but I see nothing wrong with sending in teams to assassinate terrorist leaders where ever they may be found.
If there are men that want to plan and finance terror against us, they should know there will be a price to pay, and that is their life.
This is the new warfare of the 21st Century, an age where any college chemist can mix up a deadly potion that can kill hundreds of thousands of people at a time. Nation states were afraid to use such weapons since they knew the retaliation would be swift, but the men that plan terrorist acts are not as restrained. So if they do not care for their country, perhaps they care for their life.

It makes a big difference if it is the state doing these things or if it is individuals. If the state does this it is civilization, if individuals do this they are amoral barbarians. There are only so many possible acts, but the intent is completely different.

Even the Irish Republican Army didn't assassinate in the cruel way that Islamic nuts do. This lowlife never knew what hit him. If we (the US and Israel) start kidnapping people, putting them on display for several days while they beg for their lives then behead them in grisly fashion come talk to me.

This guy was decently treated by Israel. He probably had a decent meal. Maybe he even said his "decent" prayers. Then he was decently and quickly blown to bits. I for one wish it had hurt just a little, but he never felt a thing. Good riddance.
