If I hadn't seen it for myself I wouldn't have believed it. Living on the west side of the Cascade mountains not far from Seattle I am accustomed to seeing Kerry/Edwards signs practically everywhere.
My husband and I went to the Puyallup Fair which is one of the largest in the country and draws thousands. Under the grandstand there were the Democrat and Republicans booths handing out yard signs, stickers etc. After spending all day and night at the fair I can tell you that 8 out of 10 fair goers who were making a political statement were either wearing or carrying a Bush/Cheney sign. Even more surprising was that most were young people. Even a few vendors had Bush/Cheney stickers on their tables. I did not see one vendor with a Kerry/Edwards sticker.
We'll call it "S-Car-Go" and if France doesn't go for it maybe the U.N. will. I hear they have lots of money and big appetites.
Good question. Slugs are just a monstrous version of shucked snails. I'm sure they'd love them. Yum Oui!
Sounds good to me! Snicker!
Maybe we could sell them here. You know how some tequila has the worm in it, well here in the Northwest we have a lot of breweries here. Perhaps they could bottle some with slugs in the bottle. I bet it would fly in Seattle.
A bump for Bush to take Washington! Kerry and the dims would die!
**I did not see one vendor with a Kerry/Edwards sticker.**
I was going to stop at this little business that sells yard plants. Then I saw their double Kerry-Edwards signs. LOL! Drove straight past and will never buy anything from them!
I really Bush would make another stop in this state. We're closer than we have been in a long time and I think a visit from him might make the difference.
P.S. His visit should be on the West side of the Cascades. He will carry the Eastern side of Washington.
Eeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwwwwwwww! (But funny!)
Come on Washington State! I have my Bush 2004 yard sign out!
thanks for the encouraging report. I think it will be closer than expected but its still a long shot for Bush. If Washington goes for Bush/Cheney that would really drive the libs here (even more) nuts. Some Seattle libs seem to be too ignorant or zoned out to even know who's running for Pres. - In Seattle I saw some doofus driving a brand new SUV with a big "Wes Clark in 04" sticker, just last week. Also spotted a few idjits still driving around with Kucinich stickers, lol. Some local lefties apparently are not onboard with the Kerry campaign. Maybe they will splinter off and vote Nader. Also have seen more Bush/Cheney and pro-2nd amendment stickers lately than you would expect for a liberal area.
I hope my windows don't get broken. They are inviting. It's an A-Frame with huge glass windows and I have had kids shoot bee-bee guns at them and egg them.
Yes I saw a Kucinich sticker recently too. I recently saw Howard Dean on television who said he was thankful to Washington State who was his biggest supporter. That says a lot right there.
Good for you, WSG!
However, you forgot to mention that it rains here all the time .
I was one of those who voted dem in the primary. I figured that Sims was unelectable in the general but that he had a real chance in the primary so I voted for him. There weren't any real races on the Republican side in my district.
We might have a chance this time. I have a good feeling about Rossi. People have been so fed up with Locke.
Out here on Whidbey we have the south island squarely in the Kerry camp - those who aren't in Nader's camp, at least - and north island is the GOP stronghold. Par for the course. There's a huge "Bush Lied" sign in someone's yard in mid-island that's been bugging me for a while, but knowing Kerry's going down in Dukakis-like fashion and that leftists like that homeowner will be beside themselves with anger and disappointment when it happens always brings a smile.
Well okay, fair enough.
I remember (was it 1980?) when I voted for McDermott for gov against Dixie Lee Ray in the interest of getting Spelman in the govs house. He won. Last pub gov here.
Sad
Has anyone mentioned it rains here a lot?
I will be surprised if Bush carries this state, but would be great if he does though I don't think he will need the votes to win.
Biggest thing I want to see is Rossi take over as Governor and Nethercutt take the Senate race. Winning congressional districts 8 & 9 would be good too. 8th is up in the air, but I don't think we will be able to take the 9th.
Waiting till the 1st of October to put up signs, I have 100 yards of highway front property on 510. =) Out in this rural area there is a lot of republican support.
