Dan Rather's Daughter Source of Documents?
Vanity | September 18, 2004 | Dave S

Posted on 09/18/2004 9:09:00 AM PDT by Dave S

Last night while watching Scarborough Country, one of the participants made a comment about Burkett and the county Democrat organization he is a member of. He or someone else mentioned that it was to that same County Democrat organization that Dan Rather went to a year or two ago and participated in a fund raiser. It was mentioned that that was at the behest of Rather's daughter.

Any one know if Rather's daughter still lives in that same Texas County where she got her dad to participate in a fund raiser? My speculation is that Rather's irrational stonewalling may be an attempt to keep his daughter out of the whole episode. Comments?

She's strong enough to hold up this bridge with one hand.

Just to help keep FP free of errors - please know that PO Box 34567 actually appears on some of the Guard records as released by the White House - also having served in the same unit with Bush (I was discharged in Sept 1971) I can validate that the PO Box was in use at that time.

I just left an Ann Coulter thread.

From Day 1 I've been saying this is the only reason Dan is sticking to this story and taking CBS down with him: he doesn't want to reveal that it is his daughter who is involved. He's protecting her.

Yikes!
Dan isn't a bad looking man but Robin, well, she's not very feminine looking.

It makes sense to believe that Robin is involved with Rathergate. Why else would Dan be so willing to go down with the ship? To protect his daughter of course. I don't think he would do it to protect some angry x-guard guy in Texas. IMHO

Rather Joins EnviroMedia

: "We couldn't be more pleased to have Robin working with us," said Valerie Davis, EnviroMedia co-founder and principal. "It's a huge coup for our clients. Research guides everything we do at EnviroMedia - it's the foundation that supports all of our social marketing campaigns. With Robin's expertise, we'll continue to find new and innovative ways to use research to change public behavior about things like renewable energy, littering, smoking, conserving water and cleaning up the air we breathe."

Rather is the former CEO of Mindwave Research, which she founded in 1999. She brings to EnviroMedia more than 20 years of market research experience and is also well known in Austin as a passionate environmentalist and community activist. She is the former chair of Save Our Springs Alliance, vice president of the Hill Country Conservancy and on the advisory board of Environmental Defense. She serves on the executive committee of Envision Central Texas and as the chair of LiveableCity.

As Director of Research for EnviroMedia, Rather will oversee research strategy, focus groups and manage the agency's research vendors. Rather will continue her research consulting business and other environmental advocacy work from her office at EnviroMedia.

Rather and EnviroMedia have both earned national reputations for their innovative research. Rather has been recognized for her use of new research methods, for creating cutting-edge tracking studies and for her dynamic presentation style. EnviroMedia has won several national and state awards for its use of attitude and behavioral marketing for clients like the Texas Department of Transportation's "Don't Mess With Texas" litter-prevention campaign and the Texas Department of Health's tobacco-cessation effort.

"Robin's experience will help us take our research capabilities to an even higher level," said Kevin Tuerff, president of EnviroMedia. "Plus, she understands our clients' needs and believes in what they're trying to accomplish."

"This is a perfect fit for me," said Rather, who sold Mindwave Research to her partners in 2002 to focus on raising her young son. "EnviroMedia shares my passion for research and protecting the environment. I'm excited to apply the research skills I practiced for 20 years in the technology industry to truly meaningful social marketing campaigns.”

Rather Spoke at Democratic Fundraiser"

Excerpts:

"Rather said yesterday that he hadn't realized beforehand that the event was a fundraiser. "I didn't ask the question, and I should have," he said in an interview. "I take full responsibility for it. I'm responsible and I'm accountable."

"Acknowledging that he didn't want to sound like Al Gore at a Buddhist temple, Rather said: "When I got there, I was very aware that it was a fundraising event. I'm not going to say I had no idea what was going on. . . . If someone wants to fault me for that, I wouldn't blame them."

Austin Chronicle Blurb

"Former Save Our Springs chair Robin Rather and husband/guitarist David Murray are adopting an infant son. The new arrival, born June 14, is named Daniel Andrew Murray -- Daniel from the Rather side of the family tree and Andrew from the Murray side. But to family and friends, he's simply "Andy."

David Murray already is predicting that his son's big hands will lead him to blues guitar fame. Rather, many of you may recall, had spent the first six months of this year considering whether to jump into the mayor's race -- assuming, as many did, that Kirk Watson would take an early leave to run for statewide office. But with Watson's 2002 plans still uncertain, Rather has turned her attention to matters closer to home.

Apart from domestic concerns, Rather says it's business as usual. "I intend to continue in the role that I've been in for the past five years, as an environmentalist and an activist," she says. "Beyond that, it's hard to justify spending time on a race that may or may not happen. And before I make any decision, I'd have to check in with Andy first."…

Message from Iraq

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute To our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is By taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country." Semper Fi 1stSgt Dave Jobe
