A light at the end of the tunnel, perhaps.

Most likely, it will glow before it changes.

Can anyone afford to wait?

Can Islam change?

No.
If the past and the present are indicators of the most probable future, that is.

Islam has had over 1300 years to keep pace with the standards normally judged to define "civilized". It has uniformly failed the test.

The only periods when this so-called "religion" has not been a blot on the civilized world is when they are decisively defeated to the point of humiliation.

I think it could be argued that what we're seeing is Islam going supernova as it hits the fan of modernity.

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

Winston Churchill

I'd have to say that Islam, in and of itself, cannot change. The people who practice the more moderate forms(although few) can change. They can see that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth as a man to die for their sins, was resurrected on the third day, and paved a way to God's grace with his sacrifice. That said...I doubt that many do.

Newsflash 1940: Some members of the Nazi party want to reform. They insist that shooting their victims is too atrocious and a strain on the troops. A more moderate reform minded wing of the party wants to introduce gassing and a more humane form of doing business. Retired British PM Neville Chamberlain has stated that perhaps it is time to negotiate with these moderates.

Yeah maybe it's time to find all these "moderate" Moose Limbs. After all, the moderate Nazis won out, don't you know.

"The Muslim world is changing".

You bet it is, and the US Military is leading the way in changing the subhuman Islamic filth. The writer is delusional.

Too little, too late, and only, I notice, at the east and west fringes, not Algeria to Iran, not in subsaharan Africa and not among the european fifth columnists. And the "reformers" will be swept away if Islam is ever vindicated by gaining the upper hand.

This is what has to go:

Koran [9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.
Koran [9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

The world doesn't have time nor patience to wait for Muslims to white out whacko stuff in the Koran, not while Iran and other Muslim countries work night and day to possess nukes they have every intention of using against anyone who looks at them cross-eyed.

They are making conscious efforts to move away from medieval notions of Islamic law and to implement the vision of justice, equality and beauty that is rooted in the Koran.

And the Koran is rooted in Hell.

Yes, Islam can change...from being called a religion to being called what it actually is....a terrorist organization.

Then physical transformation can take place: The can all become martyrs at the hands of civilized peoples.
