Blogger Who Faulted CBS Documents Is Conservative Activist (L.A Times RATS out Buckhead!)

WASHINGTON It was the first public allegation that CBS News used forged memos in its report questioning President Bush's National Guard service a highly technical explanation posted within hours of airtime citing proportional spacing and font styles.
But it did not come from an expert in typography or typewriter history as some first thought. Instead, it was the work of Harry W. MacDougald, an Atlanta lawyer with strong ties to conservative Republican causes who helped draft the petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Times has found.

Perhaps it's time for the public display of someone's postings be limited to 6 months or something Let me give you a big shock.
Go to Google and type in some of our FReeper names.
Bingo. We're all already outed.

Facts are facts whether it was first found by an typography expert, Buckhead, or a little old lady from Pittsburgh. Once the suspicions were raised, it was checked out by experts. The only way there would be a problem here is if Buckhead had claimed that he was a typography expert who did that stuff for a living. That didn't happen. The forgeries were so poorly done that anybody can check it out and no nutjob "expert" that CBS trots out can change that.

From the article, yep, FR is addictive, ha ha ha:
"'Harry is a very strong conservative and a very passionate conservative so if he sees something that looks fishy, he's going to say something about it,' said Lynn Hogue, a Georgia State University law professor and former executive director of the Southeastern Legal Foundation.
"'When he's not absorbed with work, I think he spends the rest of his life in the wee hours of the morning on freerepublic,' Hogue added. 'And that's the outlet through which he shares his concerns and insights, and so rather than being a matter of conspiracy, it's just him doing what he does.'"
Also, it looks like the LATimes has been scouring threads. Does this make them Freepers? And what about that lawsuit? Should they be allowed on the site? They should have to ask JR for permission and a hall pass, ha ha ha.
"Until The Times identified him by piecing together information from his postings over the past two years, MacDougald had taken pains to remain in the shadows..."

A Freeper is a conservative activist.
Duh... The elites just shocked that a freeper finished high school, and have better educations than Dan Rather.
I have an idea--a thread that polls our Freeper population as to highest achieved level of education. It'd have to be on the honor system--, since it's anonymous, but I'm willing to bet there's a lot of degrees in this forum.

Well if the Times is going to post Buckhead's picture, maybe we should post a picture of the little twerp reporter Peter Wallsten who decided that violating the privacy of a blogger who discovers a fraud perpetrated on the people of this country is more important than finding out who perpetrated the fraud.
So here's a picture of the slimy little twerp:
He's the dweeb on the right.
Frankly I don't think there is a lower form of life than Peter Wallsten. Maybe Dan Rather. But I put Dan Rather and Peter Wallsten in the same league. The legion of slugs.

What is that web site that gets you past registering? I would like to read the article, but don't want to register.
Do what I did at the NY Times: Create a User ID like "BlatantBias" and a password like "SayNYETtoNYT". Okay, it's sophmoric, but it gives me joy every time I log on.

Dweeb is right, he holds a pen like a girl. I would imagine he holds his cat like a girl too:
Peter Wallsten grew up in Chapel Hill, N.C., and graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in political science.
He joined the St. Petersberg Times in 1994 as a reporter covering local news in the Clearwater bureau.
In 1996, he moved to Tallahassee to cover state government and politics.
He joined the editorial board of the St. Petersberg Times in June 1999 and was reported at that time to be living with his cat, Cokie.
There is an interesting story that shows his reporting techniques and priorities here
I wonder what some enterprising freepers might be able to uncover about this guy. If he's going to "out" one of us, perhaps someone ought to return the favor.
Maybe we should do a thread:
Who is Peter Wallsten? Reporter who outed Buckhead is a ........
