I couldn't agree more. These media slimes get caught then they want to destroy anyone or any site that had a roll in catching them. I've gotten better, more accurate information from FreeRepublic than I had in my life watching that so-called mainstream media. I personally want to see congress subpoena CBS and Rathers then watch them squirm out of this one. It would send the long needed message to the other BS media that keep playing this lying game.

Here's what I speculate. Buckhead is under a gag order by his firm. They have threatened to fire him because of his previous anti-Islamofascist posts. This is a big firm, which probably has revenue streams from the Arabs, just like the rest of the corporate quislings. The bosses are squirming. Buckhead will soon need another job. The scandal runs deeper than anyone can imagine. Of course, what I'm posting is just pure hearsay.

This is what the LAT said about how they identified him:

"Until The Times identified him by piecing together information from his postings over the past two years, MacDougald had taken pains to remain in the shadows — saying the credit for challenging CBS should remain with the blogosphere as a whole and not one individual."

They went through his posts, and probably figured out from some comments he made that he is an attorney and in what area, perhaps he alluded to the area of law he practices, etc. Another excerpt from LAT:

Apparently the Dems really went through every word he ever posted with a finetooth comb.

Let this be a lesson for everyone, a bit here and a bit there, and someone can put them all together and form a picture, then from there may possibly find the identity. All posts are public.

I believe this would be a case where the choice of venue is wide open. Finding out info about someone is no crime. What you do with that info after you get it might be another matter. Each incident of violation into his life would be a potential charge against the actor in whatever location they reside. Difficult to prove intent to harm by the LA Times.

I'm not an attorney, though I've played one on the net from time to time. ;o) This ain't the first time I've seen something like this happen, though it is the first time I've ever seen some entity masquerading as a legitimate news source involve themselves with anything like it.
