Blogger Who Faulted CBS Documents Is Conservative Activist (L.A Times RATS out Buckhead!)
L.A Times ^

WASHINGTON — It was the first public allegation that CBS News used forged memos in its report questioning President Bush's National Guard service — a highly technical explanation posted within hours of airtime citing proportional spacing and font styles.

But it did not come from an expert in typography or typewriter history as some first thought. Instead, it was the work of Harry W. MacDougald, an Atlanta lawyer with strong ties to conservative Republican causes who helped draft the petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Times has found.

They didn't get any info from me.

I knew that....but thought others needed to hear that as well before we ended up with "Freeper-gate"....the UNTOLD suspicion and conspiracy. (*wiggling eyebrows up and down quickly*)

Thanks, Jim.

Old Media tracked down Buckhead but has put zero ounce of energy into tracking down Kerry's military records.

The AP sues the Pentagon for Bush's records, despite the fact that Bush signed Form #180, but they won't sue for Kerry's records.

They have really outted themselves this election cycle and will never be trusted again except by the people who already vote Democrat. So they just lost over 50% of the viewing public.

George Will was on Hannity's radio show today and said that Old Media is dead. The monopoly is over.

My guess is that the more plausible conspiracy angle... But this does not define a conspiracy on the part of the WH or RNC or conservative 527s. It just shows that the WH is smarter than liberals in the media, recoginized that the docs were forged, and decided to let the libs hang themselves with it. This would presuppose that the WH would take a gamble that someone else would find out and expose it. In any event, I would say that this new DU angle will get about zero news coverage, because even danny said that political partisans were out to discredit him. I would only be worried about Buckhead's saftey.

Hope Buckhead can handle all the extra work that is going to start coming his way as a direct result of being 'outed'.

No offense, but isn't there an implication in your post, whether intended or not, that FR has released this personal info about Buckhead? Shouldn't you post this comment to Jim, also, since you reference him? As a question to the owner of this forum?

In no way did I imply Jim or FR had released Buckhead's ISP information to anyone. Most owners of forums protect their members information to the extent they only release it to law enforcement if needed.

Please read further where I explain I'm a mod on another forum and why admin's need to have access to ISP information. I said nothing about releasing ISP information!

From my post: "The only reason we need to have that information is in the event we need to ban by ISP someone who trolls excessively or posts certain banned pictures."

As far as pinging Jim to my post, I've mentioned his name in past posts without pinging him. I would have pinged him if I had a question or if I wanted confirmation of any point I was wanting to make. I didn't ask Jim a question, I shared my experience on another board. I am pinging him now since you pinged him.

The Lawyer thing bothers me a little ... a conservative lawyer? An Oxymoron!

That's not that hard to believe. I know of a conservative poli-science prof locally. Anything is possible when people have a well functioning brain

Actually it wasn't Buckhead who pointed it out first. There was another poster who saw the documents on 60 minutes (before they were posted for careful inspection) who noticed that they just didn't look like military documents.

That was TankerKC.

TankerKC's: Post #107 in Live Thread: Ben Barnes and CBS Attempt Another Bush Smear (60 Minutes).

So? What difference does that make. I'll bet the writer of this article is a liberal, again, so? The facts are the facts. I guess the only time you can say anything in this country is if you are a socialist, a liberal, or prefereably a communist.

This is exactly why the liberal media is sinking fast.

"Freepers collectively possess more analytical horsepower than the entire news division at CBS," he wrote in an e-mail, using the slang term for users of the freerepublic site." - Buckhead Harry

Buckhead has now disbarred former President Clinton and dethroned King Rather at CBS, though the latter action is still pending...

I'd settle for having *either* of those actions carved on my own tombstone; guess I need to step it up!

We used to play a game called "Polar bears at the North Pole." The object was to connect the subject you started with to "polar bears". I didn't realize that was how you wrote "ur!ne-alism" articles. Nice work LA TImes. What's next, "archy and mehitabel"?

It's as if in the LA Times's mind, CBS is somehow at least partially vindicated because a conservative noticed the fraud. As if any liberal ever would have said something...

The liberal media doesn't consider conservatives as actual PEOPLE. If a document is forged in the forest and only conservatives see it, is it really forged??
