Free Republic has been reported on, for the first time that I know of, in the Japanese- language press online.
Granted, it is a Japanese translation of a recent original on-line American article; nevertheless, it has been no doubt seen by thousands of Japanese readers on the Internet!
Here is the URL, (as well as linked above):

I wonder if we should start wearing a color symbol like the street gangs do. Maybe by color he means P.J.'s.

Jim might want to think about marketing a line of FR loungewear. Then we could have pajama parties and harrass the old stream press.

Read the article, and it's not surprising. The Japanese reported Teresa's
"Shove it" episode, and everything else. Of course, Beat Takeshi had a TV show
validating the whole 9/11 conspiricy, and Smap's Katori Shingo has been ragging on
Bush every chance he gets. Ah, to be a conservative in Japan.

Nice. So is he Bushu in Japanese? Yep. (Actually pronounced as two syllables: "Bu-shu" (or Busshu").
FYI, Japanese is made up of syllables -- most of which end in vowels. For example, "hot dog" in Japanese is "hotta dogu". To the Japanese ear, it just doesn't sound right for a word to end in a consonant...

You'll probably gather that I don't respond to much to "Godzilla" stuff on FR when it comes to the nation of Japan, as there are thousands of aspects, past/present/future that one could talk about Japan, rather than a series of movies that had been made. Sorry. It just gets a bit old. Just as "cowboy hat" would not describe all of America. ;-)
