A Conservative Woman Speaks
Me

Posted on 09/16/2004 7:25:35 PM PDT by 2-in-Texas

You know, I've been a member of FR since before the 2000 election. I have not always agreed with the posts of the male-dominated membership in FR, but I have appreciated the positions of each and every one of you. But it has become very clear to me during this 2004 campaign why many women cannot embrace the conservative and/or Republican agenda. I have been since Nixon, and will remain one despite the predominance of the sexist condescension of a large group of Republican men. So let's get down to the bare bones of the situation, okay? And I really couldn't care less about the flames and insults that the lower domination of the FR membership will inflict on me for this little tirade of mine. There are so, so many women just like me who fervently believe in the ideals of the Republican and George W. Bush. We may recognize the lack of a female perspective in some issues, but we grasp the overall concept and recognize it as our own core values. We have basically learned to pick our battles. We share the views of conservative men in regards to our need for a superior military defense, a belief in the need for personal accountability and responsibility, a eff-you attitude towards our former French and Canadian and other similar so-called "allies," a need to defy the wimpy attitudes of those utopian countries who are in total denial about the condition of the world today and the necessarily severe actions necessary to ensure the survival of a righteous and moral world. We're out here, guys, and we feel just as strongly about these values as you do even if we don't feel the need to express them with your chest-beating and neverending pissing contests.

So in the midst of your extemely intelligent, compassionat idealogy, the less evolved of you start spouting your sexist and primate idealogy that becomes such a total turn-off to so many women who believe in your core values. Why do most women vote liberal? Because so many men are so busy being macho that they refus to embrace a woman's perspective on issues. You won't deter me or a very, very large group of women just like me. We are a very large and growing block of voters, and to grow that base, you need to recognize our different perspectives on the same core values. Stop pushing us away, and embrace our contributions. We are not so different, only the way God intends us to be. There's a reasons for differences, and they are for the greater good.

So hit me with your best shot. I will probably never post here again. And know this: I believe in George W. Bush, and will always be a conservative woman, although I'll probably be searching for another venue to share my beliefs.

And who decided that a conservative woman can't have some "feminist" views? Are there some rules to be a conservative female I missed?

I would expect so. However, you've got troubles of your own, now.

I invited Deb (Since 1998-01-16) to examine this thread, and she has found you lacking:

"I'm not sure what your problem is."

For those of you not familiar with the irrepressible Deb, she's been a comrade-in-arms since the oldest of days on Free Republic. Eschoir himself trembled before her wickedly keen fillet knife. [Always wondered how she kept it so sharp - prolly had something to do with her job. ;-)]

I've read your wee whinging diatribe and all I can say is...WAKE UP AND LEARN WHO IS A MALE AND WHO A FEMALE HERE!

There are probably as many women as men on FR;if not more.

If you post like a "girl" and then fall back on being a "victim",then whatever jerks you've met here,have been proven correct in their misogyny. And yes,there are a few, but just A FEW, bad apples here,just as there are in any large group;however,if you debate without facts and solid knowledge,you deserve whatever misogynistic garbage thrown at you.

I'm a woman and yes,lots of people who don't know,mistake me for a man.WHY? Because unlike you,I don't post whiny post,filled with "feelings" and complaints.

If you think that Conservative males are anti-women,you should see just how dreadful liberal and ultra lefty ones are! LOL

May we consider this post your OPUS? Are you going to leave now? And finally,what kind of cheese do you want with your whine,dear? :^)

Is this about the Butt Thread?

Some advise: I suggest you invest in a new bass boat. You'll be amazed at how differently you'll be treated.

Would you go get me a beer? Thanks, Honey.

Well, what's your problem then? You've got a great guy, what more do you want? And yes, it did take me half my life to find him, but I have a great husband, too. If you've been married 35 years, you're probably about my age. Gloria Steinem was full of horse hockey and her world view has warped a generation. Feminism has been the downfall of our country and I hate to see someone who is trying to be conservative keep those remnants of feminism. It won't work. Just give it up and be glad to hand over responsibility to the men. You'll feel a great relief at not having to be "right" all the time. And you'll also feel great relief at not not promoting socialism. If you don't get the connection, please do some research. (It's for your own good ...)

Well! Finally an answer from you .... sort of.

I had genuinely hoped we could have a serious discussion about what it was that prompted your posting. So I sent you two or three very civil replies, plus a civil email during the blackout period when this thread was temporarily pulled. And so did a number of others. None of us got a single response.

Finally when it dawned on me that you were only posting replies to people who were going negative on you, and totally ignoring all the others - who were doing nothing more than asking you to help them understand what it was on FR you didn't like, I decided to test my theory by gently "tweaking" you via a quote of yours from a previous thread where you complained about people who make generalizations about whole groups of people.

Sure enough, that finally got a response from you, an hour and a quarter after I first posted a query. Unfortunately your response doesn't address anything that I and others have been asking of you, and is disingenuous on many levels, not the least of which is that you accuse me of "ignoring the things I said...."! This! Coming after you ignored so many polite inquiries from me and others who were sincerely trying to understand what you were talking about. What chutzpah!

Now I'm mad! But not in the least bit at you! I'm mad at myself for letting you fool me into thinking you were someone interested in engaging in a real discussion. Others gave up on you and bailed long ago, obviously coming to the conclusion you weren't really serious. And I, like a complete idiot, hung in here hoping they were wrong. I can't believe I wasted my time so ... staying here and hitting refresh repeatedly. Argh!!

And who decided that a conservative woman can't have some "feminist" views? Are there some rules to be a conservative female I missed?

I never said that. You have me confused with a Freeper named StrawDog.

I'm outta here for the night. Over and out. What a waste.

And one of my all time favorites by Toby Keith:

http://channels.netscape.com/ns/music/videos/archive.jsp?cat=k

I LOVE FR

We got winners; we got losers;
Chain smokers and boozers.
An' we got yuppies; we got bikers;
An' we got, thirsty hitchhikers.
And the girls next door dress up like movie stars:
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I love FR.

We got cowboys; we got truckers;
Broken hearted fools and suckers.
An' we got husslers; we got fighters;
Early birds and all nighters.
And the veterans talk about their battle scars:
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I love FR.

I love FR,
It's my kind place.
Just click'n through the front page,
Puts a big smile on my face.
It ain't too far; come as you are.
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I love FR.

I've seen short skirts; we've got high-techs;
Blue collar boys and rednecks.
An' we got lovers; lots of lookers;
I've even seen dancin' girls and hookers.
And we like to drink our beer from a mason jar:
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I love FR, yes I do!

I like my truck, (I like my truck),
An' I like my girlfriend, (I like my girlfriend),
I like to take her out to dinner;
I like a movie now and then:

But I loove FR,
It's my kind place.
Just scrollin' down the latest posts,
Puts a big smile on my face.
No cover charge; come as you are.
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I love FR.
Mm, mm, mmm, mmm, mmm, I just love this ol' FR.
