no, i know you are not. :)

I just wanted it made clear that i was not the aggressor.

I am not a forum saint, but I would never initiate an attack on a fellow conservative/republican using the sorts of insults that this guy chose (over something stupid I might add_).

Let each person decide the proper thickness of his own skin.

Drucker?

Doesn't he have a store over in Pixley?

The media will do several things to save Kerry's bacon:

- tout bogus polls to make the race seem close
- continue the Iraq doomngloom reporting to bring down Bush's popularity
- ignore the good economic numbers and focus on negatives

the goods news is: If nobody watches the MSM anymore, does their bias matter?

I wasn't here then.

We'd just moved into a heavily 'in your face' lib neighborhood. They didn't take kindly to our yard signs or our convictions.

My hubby had to go to bed to be ready for work the next day and I stayed up alone until 4:00 am until I gave up the ghost. It was absolutely awful. Drank too much and felt dreadful (even worse than a hangover) the next day.

Then the real nightmare of AlBore began! I had never felt so alone in my life.

Since then, we've moved to a more conservative place where we can breathe and not feel threatened.

How I wish I knew then what I know now. FreeRepublic is a lifesaver! Thanks Jim Rob and all of you fantastic FReepers! I could just tweak all of your ears, you adorable fellow conservatives!

(Now I just have to deal with my 56k modem 'problem' before Nov. 2nd).

The state wide polls show a widening Bush lead.

The only thing that worries me is this:
Kerry is starting to make more effective attacks on Bush, not quite as good as Clinton but better than before.

Let's not be complacent here.

Yeah, I recall that night with a great deal of outrage. When Gore retracted his concession, I was livid.

Actually, this Gallup Poll verifies the first half of the Pew Poll in which Bush was leading by about 15 points. But they didn't like that answer, so they tinkered with the questions and I suspect, with the partisan breakdown as well.

they will try for most of the rest of the campaign, but I think we will see a shift 1-2 weeks out due to:

-kerry will have the stink of a loser on him. They will realize he can't win and smell blood in the water.
-Kerry's implosion will make a good story.
-hillary2008.

John kerry is in a horrible situation. Down in the polls. Switched campaign staff. Knows in his heart hillary wants 2008, and he's taking advice from her minions. It's going to drive him crazy in a few weeks.

It's my understanding that to get a "tie" in Part 2 of their poll, Pew both altered their questions and OVERSAMPLED Democrats by at least 9 points!!!!!

As I keep indicating, it's the weighting (or lack thereof) stupid!!!

"One of the most interesting developments this year is that the likely voter polls that do not weight by party affiliation are much more pro-Bush than the ones who do. I don't think that this trend is an accident. I think that many polls are missing a small but decicive shift in this country towards the Republican Party that actually began after 9/11 and first manifested itself in the 2002 election. That's why you cannot assume that Republicans and Democrats will turn out in roughly the same percentages as current party registration or even how they voted four years ago."

Astute observation.

I'll add one more... the polls are showing higher 'voter intensity' for the Bush side. The polls that try to 'levelize' the party affiliations wont pick up the differential intensity.

Things change, and only the poll on election day matters,
so dont waver, relent, or let up one bit. do what you can to get everyone you know to vote for Bush.

Let each person decide the proper thickness of his own skin.

Of course its your skin. But when you carry out a food fight in public, expect others to notice and comment.

Don't you think the warmth and pesonal charm of Theresa Heinz will help him ketchup in the polls? Sorry, it's difficult to avoid sarcasm when it comes to Kerry. If the Gallup Poll pitted Laura Bush against Theresa Heinz, the first lady would win 90-10%.

I shudder to think that the 10% walk among us.....

Listen, I didn't start it but I am not going to sit there and take crap like that without defending myself.

It is easy for you to say "you should just sit back and take it" since you were not the one who was insulted.

I thought Harris was run by a democrat? (Harris and Celinda Lake?) I know Pew was biased in the past. If I had to bet my life on only one poll no matter what it showed, I would have to bet on Gallup. Been doing it way too long. And as others have said, it is backed up by the dozens of new state polls this week by various organizations.

So let me ask all of you.... would you rather we "flip" all the current polls? Would you be feeling better or worse if Bush was tied/up 1 in Harris/Pew, and down 14 in Gallup? Don't know if Gallup is right or not, but I suspect they are closer than most.

They have been doing those things all along.

Clearly it hasn't helped.

What are they going to do next? Say W dragged someone behind a pick up truck?

Reveal a DUI when he was 39?

Innoculated
