Did you read to the bottom of the article ... if not try again. We know Gallup has not posted but leaks do occur.

the first phase of Pew (W up 54 to 38) had 5% more Republicans than Democrats. The second phase had 9% more Democrats than Republicans (46 to 46 tie).

Thanks ambrose. I did not see that, and it is very reassuring.

I hate the fact that the libs and the MSM are going to be manufacturing "comeback kid" stories for F'n, but we all knew they would be coming.

In fact, the latest Gallup-USA Today poll shows Busn and Kerry in a dead heat.

Huh? I don't think so. Which Gallup poll was that?

A 7 point lead is not a dead heat.

I am not trolling! If you want to spit democrat-style venom at someone who is not going to say "bush is gonna win yup yup yup" then you are an idiot.

I am reporting you because i think your conduct is inexcusable.

YOU do not know that bush will win. Nor do I. It is not written in stone and as much as i want bush to win unfortunate things can happen so it is prudent not to build your hopes up to ridiculously inflated levels.

he turned three more and ended up right back where he started.

At Fourth and Drucker he turns left.

At Drucker and Fourth he turns right.

He crosses MacArthur Park and walks into a great sandstone building

(NICK: ooh - my nose).

Um, wrong, only pew and harris's flawed polls show anything close to a 'dead heat'. The gallup poll will be released tomorrow showing a 14 pt lead (news orgs get leaks and peaks).

Yes, I remember it very well. That is when I joined FR.

They saved my sanity. It was bad enought that Hillary became my senator that night, but the shenanigans regarding Bush/Gore put me over the edge.

I stayed awake til the wee hours of the morning, when the finally called it for Bush...........only to have it reversed.

Then watching all those democRATS "counting" the votes, I thought, OMG, they are going to steal the election right before my very eyes.

It was awful, and I said that very night, that even if Bush wins, it was spoiled because I knew the Dims would never consider him legitimate.

The polls are the trigger for a switcheroo, if there is to be a switcheroo.

I don't quite understand the folks who look at the polls as even, and the one that's at 14+, and say "The real number is in the middle." That's some wacky "logic"--it's not science, it's instinct, it's guessing, it's trying to find a "middle ground" and it has no basis in fact.

Let's say Poll A at 14+ is not believed because of methodology' same for the even poll. Using two flawed base numbers, how does one say with any confidence that the "real" number is in the middle? it's not as if both polls poll the same people.

These polls are good for one thing--indicating an overall direction. All the polls I've seen indicate that direction is toward Bush.

Gallup may be right, or may be wrong. They have 50 plus years of polling experience, and have never been accused of "cooking their numbers". They are the "benchmark" polling firm in America. They are not always dead on, but their track record in Presidential Elections stands on its own.

Gallup was taken to task on FR back in 2000 because they chronically oversampled Democrats. At one point, they had Gore up by 15. It got to the point where people stopped believing in Gallup and started beliving in Portrait of America.

And everyone knows how THAT turned out.

Look, I have no brief for any polling organization after 2000, even Zogby. I only look at trends. If Gallup comes out with a big spread for Bush, ingore the spread and look at the trend as it exists accross the polling universe. We need to look at the internals of the poll and the makeup of the sample to see what's really going on, as well.

I think you'll find that the Pew poll is an outlier.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

And you are a bit too trigger happy.

If you come out guns a blazing like barney fife you end up shooting your allies.

I am for bush but i am not going to go around 100 percent certain he is going to win.

Why?

becuase, the let down would be even greater if kerry happened to win.
