A Gallup poll being released Friday has Bush up 54-40 in a three-way matchup, with Ralph Nader (news - web sites) at 3 percent.

Harris had Bush up 10% in June, which was probably his single worst political month in his 3 1/2 years in office. They're not Dem biased - just no reliable.
It isn't KINKO'd... its going down because it's been PINKO'd by Hanoi John..Thus the Kerry Slide!
That SOB Chrissy Matthews NEVER said a damn thing when Harris had President Bush up by 10 a month or so ago...
You have a link to that? Based on how the Dems seem panic stricken lately, I tend to believe Gallup or Pew's first poll.
I question the timing of this poll.
GWB up by two TD's heading into the 4th qtr. It's not a time to slack off. Full steam ahead.
Same experience. Clinging to any bit of favorable news. Overjoyed to read that Florida had gone to Bush. One last check before sleep. ABJECT DESPAIR . . . picketing CNN . . . breathless waiting for the Supreme Court . . . first good night's sleep in weeks. God give George W. Bush a decisive victory this time!!!!
TIME FOR ANOTHER KERRY CAMP SHAKEUP!!!!
Amen to that!
So how is CNN spinning this -- ith ten minutes of Bush should come clean on his terrible military record? Chris Matthews replayed a February interview with Burkett, but I don't know if Matthews reported the Gallup poll numbers.
The Pew and Harris need to be looked at as a little outside the norm. If you look at all the state polling, Bush has closed or lead states he hasn't led in the past. In states he is winning he has expanded the lead. He couldn't be doing all that and be losing ground in an overall race. Unless you are polling greater NY, Philly, LA etc...
Amen to that Brother!
What a ridiculous poll, as are the ones showing the race a dead-heat. It's amazing that the science of polling has made so little progress in all these decades. In statistics we call data such as the Gallup one an "outlier"--to be discarded (along with the Pew "dead-even" nonsense today). The true race averages +5.75 points for bush
And Gallup is a private, for profit, corporation with a long reputation to protect. They make their money based on being right. Comparing Gallup to Pew is like comparing private and public health care.

Maybe they should pick up Cap'n Rather! He can be their own Baghdad Bob!
I heard Rather touting the Pew and Harris polls on his radio newscast earlier today. Now, when was the last time you heard him tout a Harris poll?
Isn't Harris "adults?"
Interesting. A later post has Crissy Mathews stating that the "race is tied." Crissy must not have seen the Gallop poll yet.
