Maybe it's time to clue Ms. Zahn in on how whacked this guy is? By now it's quite obvious the news networks are hopelessly inept at investigating their sources.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the long term archive of DOD records was in Colorado

I obtained copies of my DD214 from the ST LOUIS MO archives just a few years ago.

"Burkett is the DNC's Oswald."

When does Jack Ruby show up?

Chris Matthews just called Burkett delusional..

This is really getting interesting , maybe Matthews is ready to bail out and vote for George.

Springfield 45:

Don't throw out your copy of "Stolen Valor" with your used Kitty Litter.

There are TWO different Burkett's involved here.

The former Texas National Guard Officer that has it out for President Bush is named Bill Burkett.

The Co-author of "Stolen Valor" is P.G. "Jug" Burkett.

Different Burkett's.

Clarification re the two Burketts:

Bill Burkett is Lt. Col. Bill Burkett a Vietnam Vet who served 28 years in senior command positions within the Army and the Army National Guard. He served on the National Guard Staff for Governor George W. Bush.

B. G. Burkett "Jug",(Vietnam vet with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade), is a military researcher. He was co-chairman of the Texas Vietnam Memorial with President George Bush as Honorary Chairman. He co-wrote "Stolen Valor" with Glenna Whitley. In "Stolen Honor" he has several entries on DAN RATHER. On pg 306 is the info on the 1988 "60 Minute" show "The Wall Within" in which Rather contended that between 26,000 and 100,000 suicides had occurred among Vietnam vets, "depending on what reputable source you believe."

Okay, there's Bill (angry enough to get the interest of the Secret Service) and Jug ("Stolen Valor")Burkett. What a weird name-warp that is!

In post 86 I wrote that B G Burkett wrote about Dan Rather in "Stolen Honor". I meant "Stolen Valor." Sorry for any confusion.

Two different Burketts, both Vietnam Vets, both with ties to the Bushes in Texas. Bill Burkett ended up despising GW. and B.G. (Jug) Burkett working with Bush senior on the Vietnam Memorial in Texas.

I mean come on, this clearly was a job for Craig Livingston. When the Kerry campaign can't even make the right choice when it comes to files and forgery, its over.

How does an Army National Guard guy have access to and Air National Guard file? I wouldn't think that their offices are in the same place, but what do I know. Can anybody shed some light on this?

I've been thinking along the same lines. This is a dangerous guy. Spent the last several years attacking, sliming all those he blames for whatever ills/problems he's had. The unnoticed guy in the window or inside the hotel kitchen doesn't have to be totally unknown. Oswald was a public figure on TV and so on before 22 Nov. Well known to the FBI.

I am still confused about how burkett was in the room while these supposed files were vetted? What was his job?
