By a window in a chair,
I feel the breezes' constant stare,
I hear a friend I never see,
but her voice will always be,
ever present in my heart,
always shining out the dark,
shadows come when she's away,
but when she speaks they'll never stay,
she's the one I've never seen,
but the image of a queen,
so is sight as big an art,
as the beauty of the heart,
so is touch quite as real,
as this love she makes me feel,
so does distance take a part,
or will she find me from afar,
all of this I wish to know,
and to her I wish to go,
though my measure may fall short,
for this queen that I adore,
by a window in a chair,
I sit and wish that she were here,
so much comfort in her voice,
and there's not a sweeter noise...
