Howlin started a Live Thread September 10, 2004 to see what Dan would say. He told us his report was the facts and nothing but the facts.
Well, it is now Monday, the 13th. What will Dan say today?
"I heard Mr. Staudt is still alive. Why hasn't he come out of hiding? "
Wow. I hadnt heard that.
"CBS is in s-o-o-o-o-o SERIES trouble! :)"
Yeah. In such series trouble. Nothing but a bunch of hugh maroons over there. ;-)
Yep. No real expert in the field would agree to Rather's premise.
The machine he's talking about CAN do the individual items that are seen in the memos. But it CAN NOT duplicate them image perfect. It's been tried already.
While MS Word DOES create image perfect copies.
That's what riled me so much...it all looked good to the rube who is sitting on his couch only half aware of what's going on (and convinced that Kerry is some kind of war hero--did you see the Viet Nam Vets against Kerry yesterday on CSPAN?) But much of the argument against the documents and the Barnes interview was not addressed.
"Your Honor: I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out that my client, Mr. Rather, is, in fact, a major dickweasel. Thank you." :)
LOL!
the other ridiculous statement is that with modern software it is impossible to use a lowercase l in place of a 1.
l234567890. (can you find the secret tang post office box number?)
more like still a jacka$$.
but yes...he is
more like still a jacka$$.
but yes...he is
One thing, though.
What could have happened is irrelevant. The only relevant matter is what DID happen - and I believe it proven that somebody typed these memos in MSWord.
I don't know, but it wasn't F-102s. Bush was not going to be re-trained in new aircraft so it didn't matter. That's why he didn't get a physical. Didn't need one.
I thought I read somewhere this morning (I think it was at National Review--the Kerry Spot) that the font was being used way back even before the 60's (in manufacturing printed materials--or something along those lines), though not available for use in the context that was available to the Guard.
I'm tired of hearing how it "could" have been done, Dan. Produce the damn machine, tell us the model number, type the memos on it, scan them and put them on the web for comparison. OR, failing that, shut your mouth.
I know it was used in books, presumably properly licensed. Since typewriters (even the Composer) couldn't handle it technically, I doubt the question of licensing it to typewriter manufacturers ever arose.
"Wonder how many millions have no idea who Epstein's mother is."
(Puts hand up.)
Ooh-ooh ooh ooh ooh...
Maybe that's just since midnight.

Precisely, this is the ONLY way to prove it.

It quotes all the expert naysayers from various MSM and CBS defence in one article. Maybe others in CBS are starting to see the light?
Or feeling the heat. I went to the CBS website just to make sure this was on the level. Sure looks like they're keeping the option open to throw Dan overboard.
