Howlin started a Live Thread September 10, 2004 to see what Dan would say. He told us his report was the facts and nothing but the facts.
Well, it is now Monday, the 13th. What will Dan say today?
That expert probably doesn't need future clients.
His/her credibility just went in the toilet.
Morbid possibility:
A thoroughly disgraced and discredited Dan Rather, facing the certain end of his career, pulls an R. Budd Dwyer act.
That's what needs to be focused on now. Drop the talk about fonts, focus on Staudt.
43 got an honorable discharge. Which means he was where he was supposed to be, when he was supposed to be there.
Ah, here we go...
Just said that some of those were NOT political partisans.
Trying to discredit the critics.
Standing by their version of events. Color me surprised.
Why was Bush suspended, blah blah blah.
Software "expert" says that you would have to go out of your way to produce the superscript "th". FALSE. In Word, with certain settigns, you have to go out of your way to keep it from happening automatically.
CBS's take on Staudt was that he was a "mythical" figure who continued to run the guard even after he retired. Sort of like Walter Cronkite still runs Dan Rather.
"Hey man, nice shot."
Well, Dan is still trying to keep the rotten fish down... Insist the documents are real.
What do I win for #2 (hint for the gambling public; when dealing with the Leftist Media and you have a doubt, always go with them doing a #2 :-)
ROTF!!! With what, a time machine?!
Unbelievable...are the top dogs at CBS so stupid that they're willing to allow Blather to continue destroying the rep of the news network???
Bwah hah hah hah hah....
My local radio guy, Mark Belling, today took on the issue of the CBS documents. On Friday, he was hedging his bets. Today, he came right out and called them forgeries and listed point by point the reasons why. It was great!

If that's what he said, he's incorrect. Microsoft Office 2000, XP, and 2003 all have auto-superscript enabled by default. If you type "187th" and hit space, the "th" will automatically superscript BY DEFAULT.
email the crap out of these guys to keep the heat on them

Dan is a crap-head. #2 He's sticking to his story. what a laugh, well, I mean it's not funny just sad. I can't wait to see if he'll ever admit to a forgery. I won't hold my breath.
i hate to be on topic or anything, but rather just les loose a screed of accusations against w., had some tubby, bald-headed gut identified as "bill glennon technical consultant" who said it could all have been produced in the 1970s, and failed to answer any of the other questions. the upshot being, "they might conceivably have been possibly made we think, so we have concluded they are genuine and george bush is a bad man," or words to that effect.
