"Even the most experienced typist, with the most expensive proportional typewriter, and all of the wiz-bang replacement keys could not duplicate the kerning used in modern word processing software and laser printers. These documents clearly display this kerning.

Therefore, there is no way these documents could have been typed on the dates identified in the documents."

Exactly. Which is why wasting time on things that can be disproven is just that...a waste of time. All you need is the overlay of the Word document and the memo. While individual aspects could be reproduced, the documents would still be different. Heck, two docs from to different typewriters wouldn't overlay.

The overlay is all that's needed. The rest is arguable. That's not.

where did the documents originate

Per my post of 24 hrs ago, I still think Blather knows who created the docs, he knows they were fake, and [to keep from losing everything including quite possibly his Freedom...LOL] he will spill his guts sooner rather than later.

If he had it typed by a secretary, their initials would be on the page. IIRC it is ss/EE (secretary's initials, lower case/executive's intials upper case) and is added to the lower left-hand corner below the signature block.

However, this raises another question: why would anyone have personal memos, written to cover themselves, typed by someone else?

Killian's widow states that her husband jotted notes on any piece of paper handy and stashed them in his wallet. I know professionals today who have access to word processors and secretaries who do the exact same thing. One is an MD friend and we laugh about his *back pocket file cabinet* all the time. Many people keep a journal in a notebook and use that for personal jottings and to record events. Often this is a small notebook that fits in a shirt pocket.

Only someone under 40 or so would not recall that once-upon-a-time most men did not type. Even if a man did, say a military clerk, once that man reached a certain rank, he probably did not. Executives had too many other duties to spend time typing, especially routine papers. If a military clerk had somehow typed up personal notes for a superior, that clerk would have surely added his initials to the paper in question. It gets to be second nature.

I am a Texan and this has always smelled like Texas lib Dems to me...Austin is the center of left wing dems in Texas....They slimed Bush when he ran for Governor..nothing new.

I have no idea when these docs were created but the stories have floated around for years...Rather,CBS, fell in love with the story, believed it, because they want Bush defeated....Rather has Texas sources, friends in the dem party here....

Is it absolutely impossible that a retired commander might apply pressure to Killian on behalf of a third party?

Send the 52 reasons they're fake to NBC, ABC, CNN and Fox. I'm sure they'd all enjoy taking down CBS News.

What was the name of the target of the 'two-minute hate' in Orwell's '1984'?

Emmanuel Goldstein.

They need to turn the docs over for carbon dating and to be checked for 'rag' content of the paper fiber. The 'rag' content in 1970's paper would be different than today's paper. Also to see if they match other paper out of the office of Col. Killian. Older docs are no longer white-white but off color or yellowed if not stored properly.

I was bringing that up yesterday. It is higher on the printed page than in word on the computer screen.

If these documents had existed during the 2000 election cycle, they would have been used in 2000.

Its even highly unlikely that you could get MS Word to produce a word "finger-print" match with another modern word-processor (such as Word Perfect) even if both used the same proportional font.

There are so many details in the font, as well. Open vs. closed "4" for example.

These documents are not authentic, I am convinced. CBS is going to obfuscate the issue.

Like reading directly off the front page of the NATIONAL INQUIRER (right next to the story about the woman having puppies) . . .

No it is far from impossible. Retirees can still hold a little clout. Is it likely? That's a toss up.
