Before tomorrow morning, Democrats will get talking points blaming this forgery and deception all on the Bush campaign. Dirty tricks, they will say, played to discredit the MSM and to innoculate Bush against all future criticism of his NG stint. Democrats never answer charges, they just deflect blame to someone else.
Yeah, that was my reaction to. I don't have the background knowledge on typewriters or military matters that others here do, so I've been reading it as it unfolded.

I was wondering when the drug and alcohol suggestion was coming. Did they do drug and alcohol testing then? I don't think so. I don't even think it was something that showed up in physicals.

Roundtable: Jeff Birnbaum says if these documents turn out to be forgeries (Brit cautions "that's a huge 'if'") it will end this National Guard story once and for all in the president's favor as he will be shown to be the victim of a witchhunt.
Before that Mort said the whole story is a "crock". He said the ONLY thing that would make any "there there" is if the physical was missed due to drug use. He said if there's anything that hasn't been made public, best to put it out now. If there's nothing this has been a huge chase after a big nothing.
If it's proved these are indeed forgeries, who ever did this was a lightweight. But that brings into question, why didn't CBSs expert find it this. It should have been glaring. Why were not these docs properly cleared. Why the rush to air?

I am from the Air Force side of the House and I saw so much wrong with these that I cannot believe -- this afternoon is the first time I have been on the computer to look.
There is a glaring omission -- USAF, USAFR, or ANG are missing from behind the rank.
The blame game is another word for whining. It's what Dems do best.

I think the line of defense has been hinted at by some on these threads. CBS will claim that they re-did the docs for air because they were difficult to read in their original form. But I mean PUH-LEASE!! CBS "news" forges their video, even document signatures? That alone is a scandal. It just won't work. They're busted.
