Ummm...Lance had testicular cancer.

In which case, you are still correct, since Kerry has no balls either!

This picture just screams "Caption me! Caption me!"

It really does. But I'm at a loss. I don't know whether to laugh at what an ass he is, or be sad for our great country that's he's actually a presidential candidate. So I guess I'll take the highroad and say, "no comment".

You can do both!

Why would he get all gussied up when riding his bike (helmet, gloves, knee pads, training wheels, ect.), yet when he is shooting, not bother to wear ear or eye protection?

Good point

You can do both!

Thanks! I guess I should do that, and not be quite as repressed where Kerry the traitor is concerned.

For some reason, I'm reminded of the 60s song "Let It All Hang Out". Maybe I should quit taking the highroad, and let all my Kerry aggressions "hang out".....lol

That gun obviously does not fit properly and is probably a borrowed gun.

Good article in August, 04 Sporting Gun re. use of one or two eyes. Sometimes you just have to work with what God gave you.

From what I have read, Kerry is not much of a shooter and belongs to that group that owns a Holland & Holland side by side but knows nothing about shooting.

Ask Kerry what a comb is and he'll pull it out of his pocket and run it through his hair.

A short barrel doesn't have anything to do with the pattern when chokes are used. The barrel length effects balance, weight and sighting radius.

Any Freepers know who manufactured the shotgun? Anyone know why this gun club let a gun grabbing socialist on their property?

The dems started the gun control controversy after the Kennedy assassination. One of the leaders was Senator Christopher Doddd. His son carried on the tradition but I don't know if he's still around.

Good question! I know he'd get the coldest reception ever at the one I go to... heck we have a poster in the rifle target room with him, Schumer, Feinswine, and swimmer Ted on it. Bottom: VOTE YOUR SPORT. Amen.

he's missing protective eyewear, and this time, there can be no doubt that he's also sans hearing protection:

What a doofus. Even my "old school" father in law wears ear protection when shooting. In fact he was shooting a gun very similar to Kerry's, but in 16ga, the last time I went shooting with him, his youngest son, and a grandson. That will probably be the last time I get to shoot with him. He needed help to be able to shoot at all, I think he's lost the memory of exactly how to do it, but even in his "degraded condition" (He's had series of mini-strokes), he knew to wear hearing protection.

Do we know for certain he was shooting trap? That long barrelled side by side would probably be better for trap than this short over/under. However the short gun would be better for skeet and some varieties of sporting clays.

when did the Dems start pushing this citizen disarmament crap under gun control?

While there have been exceptions along the way, consider that the first federal gun control, the National Firearms Act was pushed by and passed during the Roosevelt (D) administration, in 1934. That was *after* the repeal of prohibition, which had caused all the gang violence with Thompsons, BARs, and sawed off shotguns. One very notable exception would be Hubert Humphrey who said:

"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."
Know Your Lawmakers, Guns, Feb. 1960, p. 4 (1960)

Another would be JFnK's hero, JFK:

By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."
Know Your Lawmakers, Guns, Feb. 1960, p. 4 (1960)

Since 1960 though, it's been pretty much downhill. LBJ was one of the bigger gun grabbers, when he used the Kennedy(both) and King assassinations to ram through the 1968 Gun Control Act.

Kerry has stated that it his intention that no honest American shall own or possess any type of weapon other than an over under or single shot shot gun or rifle...

Or a side by side shotgun. That's what he used against the terroristic pheasants of Iowa. That one looked more like a goose gun than something for pheasants.

Where's the eye protection? That's usually required on ranges. I don't think there's earplugs there either.

I hunt without eye and ear protection too, but I don't fire off a box of .30-06 or slugs either.

Most "serious" trap shooters use an over/under, as this supposaidly cuts down on parallax error. Personally, I disagree with this, but then I squint and shoot with one eye, so the balance and "platform" of the side-by-side work better for me.

Getting back to the topic, Kerry has been known to go out and shoot upland game, and this is likely his upland game gun. Of course, it's also one of those hyperexpensive doubles (typically $3000 and above new) that's popular with the "English Tudor" set...

Kerry appealed to gun owners, saying he's been a hunter "all my life." After leaving Akron, he demonstrated his shooting skills in Edinburg, where he shot four of 10 traps. Kerry also surveyed flood damage in Lisbon, and met with a group of steelworkers in Stratton.-AP

Well maybe, but when he was pheasant hunting in Iowa, he used a long barrelled side by side, not a short barrelled under/over. The short barreled "upland game" gun would be better for skeet than trap. Trap is more like shooting ducks or phesants, Skeet more like shooting quail or dove. Besides, the stock looks much too short for him. You can't hit beans with a shotguns whose stock doesn't fit. I have to put spacers in standard stocks to make them long enough for my guerilla arms.
