Fury in Dem-Land: Bloggers Want Kerry to Hit Back By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Morning Editor September 02, 2004

(CNSNews.com) - Democrats on Thursday described Republicans as the "angry party," but rank-and-file Democrats were the ones venting their fury on Republicans -- via a Democrat-sponsored blog, calling "Kicking A**."

Many of the people posting comments on the "daily dispatches" website said it's time for Kerry to fight back. What's he waiting for, they asked.

"Last night, the Republican Party proved once and for all that it has nothing to offer the American people," says the Democratic National Committee's Kicking A** website.

"The vice president couldn't articulate his president's vision for the future -- because there isn't one. A Republican Senator who perversely likes to call himself a Democrat lied over and over and over again to the American people while revealing the inexplicable rage that motivates him.

"On a night where the theme was 'Land of Opportunity,' we learned that Republicans aren't the least bit interested in making America a better place. All they have to offer are anger, fear, and despair..."

Responding to the posting, one presumed Democrat wrote, "We are losing folks."

\ldblquote We need an ad campaign on TV comprised of close-ups of the bitter divisive anger of Schwarzeneggar, Miller, Delay, Bush, Buchanan, Hannity, North, Rumsfeld, and more, along with the voiceover of their rage," said another reader.

"Take off the kid gloves, John Kerry! Let's get down in the dirt and bare-knuckle 'em," said someone else.

"Hey wake up DNC! We need Kerry to come up with a strong recognizable slogan that sums up the failures of the Bush administration," said yet another responder.

Here are some of the other comments from frustrated -- and angry -- Democrats:

"If we lose because we don't hit back harder than they do, we deserve what we get. I am tired of Kerry getting beat up and feeling like I'm taking the hits."

"WHAT THE HELL IS KERRY WAITING FOR???? WHAT THE HELL IS MARYBETH [Cahill] WAITING FOR? Now is NOT the time to be polite ... it's time to FIGHT!"

"Why can't we be angry too? I sure am. It's time to start hitting back hard. God knows they don't have any restraint. It would be sad to lose because we're too civilized."

'General election sprint' begins

The Kerry-Edwards campaign announced on Thursday that it was beginning the "general election sprint" with two new ads that will highlight the fundamental choice in this election.

According to the Kerry people, that choice boils down to "four more years of an administration that puts the interests of the few ahead of middle-class families, or the Kerry-Edwards plan that understands a stronger America begins at home with good paying jobs, affordable health care, energy independence and a stronger, safer country."

Wasting no time, Sens. Kerry, Edwards and their wives planned to hold a midnight rally in Springfield, Ohio, Thursday -- after President Bush addresses the Republican National Convention -- then split up for four separate tours of battleground states.

Also on Thursday, Kerry supporters were holding a conference call to "preview" President Bush's Thursday-night speech to the Republican National Convention.

"Regardless of which issues Bush discusses -- Social Security reform, Health Savings Accounts, or tax reforms -- one thing that is constant: all of these are failed plans for middle class families that will move America in the wrong direction," the Kerry campaign said in a press release.

So, when the Dims take things that aren't broken and trash them, it's good policy. When the Bush folks take on the challenge of changing these failed plans (that have been perpetuated in failing mode by the Dims), they are on the wrong track?

Isn't that like saying that we've been driving on the rim for a while, but it would be stupid to change the tire?

Lurch can't even throw a decent pitch, much less hit back.

But I hope he hits back anyway--smirk!!!! Every time he tries to act like a "manly man" in spandex, most people either roll their eyes or fall over laughing.

The more shrill his campaign gets, the more desperate and thin-skinned they appear. And people think this pampered gigolo living off dead men's wives' fortunes should be responsible for defending the security of the U.S.? ROFLOL!!!

Yup, after the RNC the Dims are going to take off the kid gloves and bare-knuckle it out in the dirt.

Kerry's going to call Bush AWOL...no, he already did that.
Maybe he'll compare Bush to Hitler and Rove and Ashcroft to the SS Third Reich...no, already done that too.
Well maybe he'll portray Bush as a nitwit who has no clue about nuance and foreign relations, a dangerous cowboy...no, done that. *sigh*

"ugly for whom?...."

Not for whom; rather, the political campaigning will not be politics as usual. Given the polls Kerry will be forced to come out swinging - some ugly things are probably going to be stated. The Repubs will probably respond in kind.

Kerry is desperate - desperate times call for desperate measures.

Been watching the protests? I would say they are already ugly and it's the Dem party that suppplied the ammunition for that anger.

The adults are now fighting back. Time to discipline these spoiled brats!

Republicans are the "angry party?" The only angry speech I've heard so far was Zell Miller's. Everything else has been upbeat and optimistic. The 'rats are off their meds again.

According to the American Spectator and Rush, the Kerry staff is collaborating with Dan Rather for another Texas National Guard expose.

The reason they are so mad is that they used all the crap they had on Bush in 2000.

If the supposed video of Kerry burning down a Vietnamese village does exist and is shown on Hannity & Colmes, Kerry is dead before anyone can even shout "Iceberg!"

Speaking of manly men, this one is already looking to protect the family jewels in anticipation of his debate with Vice President Cheney.

The Vice President will fillet this junior-league pretender up one side and down the other so slickly that Edwards won't know what hit him until a week later.

Dems don't get it, Free Speech means you have to take being criticized, and frankly to call the repubs haters is just nonsense. They have been great speeched delivered by thoughtful leaders... far better than anything the DNC offered in its convention.

Don't be hating the republicans because your party decided to play politics with National Defense and Security and that those games are coming back to roost.

You made your bed, now enjoy lying it. The age of the dems being anything but an opposition part are looking to be officially over.

You call our military occupiers, you claim our foreign policy is the problem... you claim it is patriotic to spit on soldiers call them baby killers and throw feces at the, not the republicans! You have made your bed, now lie down in it... its a pity you didn't realize the bed you were making was your own coffin.
