I live not too far from Senator Miller's office in Young Harris GA. If you want to send the good Senator a note of thanks, post on this thread. I'll print the thread out and drop it off at his office, letting them know that should he like to return a comment, I'll post it here at FR.

As you so eloquently stated you are placing your family's interests over your party's interests when the two are incompatible.
I loved your directness and humor in exposing the empty uniform that John Kerry tries to wear.
I also saw the disrespectful and combative way Blitzer and his team treated you after the convention. It's like this group, and other journalists, have been trying to find something negative (anything)to diminish the impact of this convention. Last night it was the Bush girls and tonight it was you and Cheney.
I hope you remind this press that what they describe in tones of mock shock as the extreme "anger" they heard tonight that none of them seemed to be at all disturbed by Sharpton during his high octane speech at the Democratic convention. Or the street protestors spitting and swearing at RNC delegates. Or Michael Moore's rants, Franken's almost physical exchange with a Republican operative ...and the list goes on and on which has been going on for more than a year now.
Somehow "angry white men" speaking at Republican functions are very very dangerous but anyone else is just expressing an honest voice of dissent.
The hypocrisy is stunning..as is their obvious bias.
As Cheney said: "We're glad your on our side".
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your forceful but timely address this evening. You expressed perfectly our confidence in and respect for our dear President Bush. You equally reflected the disgust and contempt we have for those unprincipled and opportunistic politicians who have absconded your party.
My wife and I will pray for you and your family and wish you godspeed towards your well-deserved retirement, and want you to know we will always remember your support of our great President, and sincerely appreciate your generous service to our great country.
You are a credit to our Corps, to our country, and to the God-fearing men and women fortunate enough to have you serve them as their United States Senator.
Tonight you said what should have been said long ago. And for that this fellow Marine salutes you!!

I was dumbfounded.....I told A that we were watching history and one of the last of the great orators of our time.
His delivery was incredible....especially at 72....I did not know he was that talented.
Thank you Senator Miller! My young grandson watched it with me. I can't thank you ENOUGH for what you did today.

As a Georgian who has called you my Governor and Senator, I stand extra proud tonight to see the courageous leaders of our great state...Miller, Chambliss, Gingrich... continue to lead the fight against liberalism, socialism, terrorism.
