No, their age group is not watching. Their parents age group is watching, and we thought they were cute. And I'd say their perfomance compares quite favorably to professionals. Anybody who's watched a few awards shows cannot possibly say they did a worse job than those folks do reading their scripted banter when presenting an Oscar, Grammy or Emmy. Overall, their four or five minutes is inconsequential, and served only to convey one message - Bush is a real guy, and his kids a real people, not scirpted political machines peddling fake stories about hamster CPR.
The big speech for tonight was Arnold, and he ROCKED.

See the video for the song "Hey Ya" by OutKast for the pop culture definition.

They wern't on all that long and it was a break with all the 'serious' politics. They are real people. Didn't seem like they were acting. I think they made a point.

Is there a "Coulter" rule for the Bush Daughters?

when you watch the actors give out oscars or other awards on stage and they are not in a studio- they act just like these girls-it was a LARGE audience and so important- it was campy and cute - and they were probably thinking what Barbara Bush was gonna do when they were finished!!!!

Aw, c'mon Mike. :^) The real feedback will come from their own age group.Oh, you mean the group that doesn't vote very much? Regards.

There is a growing "Coulter Rule" for the Bush Daughters and rightly so.

After reading Freeper reaction to the Twins' 'performance' tonight both on the LIVE thread and now here, I have just one comment: It's obvious to me that many of you have not spent ANY time recently on a high school or college campus!!!
The Twins' were NOT speaking to impress the over 25 crowd; they were speaking (authentically) to the 18-24 year old demographic -- not a group that typically votes Republican!
I gauged the Twins success by monitoring the reaction of my teenage son and his friends -- who, by-the-way, are considered the coolest of the cool at their Catholic high school! Bottomline: They were so impressed with the Twins (HOT!) that they decided to watch the First Lady's entire speech! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! [Two of the guys who were leaning toward Kerry are now leaning toward Bush (my son will make sure they vote the RIGHT way). Why the change? The Twins convinced them that Republicans aren't the clueless nerds they thought they were!!!]

Of course I'm an old fogey. I spent decades being a young fogey and have earned the right to be an old one.

Hey, who knows? Maybe the twins will get a few more of them to the polls. Regardless, I sure didn't think they were so bad as so many others do.

They were hot, and probably helped swing a few under-25 voters. On the older demographic, the effect was probably neutral.

Also heard from CR's and they loved the twins. Hope I never get too old to not appreciate the humor of young people.

Regardless, I sure didn't think they were so bad as so many others do. Like so many things, it's what is in the eye of the beholder. Ever feel like you want to be about a million miles away? That's how I felt listening to them. BTW, I just talked to a 25-year-old guy whose evaluation is the twins are cute but really D-U-M acting.
