My Daughter is suffering from a long term illness, mental. They have reached the limit that they can do with drugs, at this point.
They are proposing that she be institutionalized, long term care. She is a vibrant young lady, whom I love as life itself. I do not wish to see her as another drugged up drone in an institution.
And, to you and yours as well. <><
We have been touched by mental illness in our family.
I will offer prayers for your daughter, you and your family. Sts. Rita and Jude are especially powerful saints for hopeless or impossible cases. God bless you!!

God Bless you and yours.
Little Bill, they said the same thing about my sister, 20 years ago. The expert said she was "schizophrenic" and they wanted her institutionalized. We talked as a family, and instead of doing what the expert said to do, we did what we knew we had to do - see first if she could make it without the drugs, without the institution.
She never went to the mental institution - instead, she went forward in her life. She has a family, a degree, and she has us. Life has not always been peachy, but my sister is alive and well, and she herself is her own best psychiatrist.
When did this start, and what drugs were they giving her at the time? So many times, the drugs have side effects which leads to the downward spiral - also, there are many physical illnesses which bring on symptoms of mental illness.
Freepmail me. I have experience, maybe some of it will help.
I'm not in MA, but in TX. When I worked in Community Mental Health with patients who were not able to pay for meds, the pharmaceutical companies usually had programs to make them available gratis to those patients.
The drugs for Schizophrenics were the most costly, and these programs were really beneficial for patients who had no resources.
Praying for you and yours.
"... get your daughter to an MD who has an understanding of and uses nutritional remedies."
Bullseye!!
Take care, Bill. If you keep your love for her strong, she may improve without warning. Keep trying your best. You may want to get a second opinion, as well.
Bill, I will put you in my prayers. And your daughter, of course, too. God Bless you.
Sympathetic prayers sent....I pray for your daughter to be healed....Blessing to you and your family
Contact NAMI (Mational Alliance for the Mentally Ill) WWW.nami.org. They provide emotional support, education and resources for family and friends of those suffering from mental disorders. I tried to find a chapter in Mass but the site is too slow right now.
The problem that she faces is that she is a charity patient, she was separated from her husband who defaulted on her insurance payments. I have been purchasing her drugs, but the stuff they are recommending is out of my league.
Hummingbird advised of free drug programs from some pharmaceutical cos.
He/she is absolutely right about it. About three years ago I posted an list of free drug programs mostly from pharmaceutical manufactures. I could kick myself for not saving the resources. I will try to find that post in the next few days.
If someone has the time, the post was on The Motley Fool in the political asylum board. I used the same screen name.
If she is not harmful to herself or others, stand your ground. Adding prayers.
Prayers on the way.
Matt 18:20
I will be praying for this situation, Little Bill. Our God is Mighty, and He is able to resolve this.
Carolyn
you are in my prayers!
