Liberals Losing it over Swift Boat Charges - Fox News Watch Libs on Brink of Breakdown

The pounding Kerry has been taking from the Swift Boat Veterans over his Vietnam record, and his concomitant poll plunge, is literally driving his liberal supporters crazy.

The evidence was at hand on last evening's Fox Media Watch (the rebroadcast of which I'm watching this morning at 6:30-7 AM EDT).

In all my years of watching the show, I cannot recall the resident liberals - Jane Hall (a woman of a certain age), and the small-but-perfeectly formed Neal Gabler - so absolutely beside themselves.

So frenzied was Gabler that you almost imagined the men in white suits would have to make an appearance before Gabler hurt someone or himself. He was apoplectic at the notion that the panel was discussing the merits of the issue at all, declaring that this just played into Karl Rove's diabolical plot. He simply wanted to declare that the allegations were false, a fraud, etc. and would brook no debate.

Biting the Fox paw that feeds her, Jane Hall blamed "the cable news networks" for perpetuating the story. Both the libs agreed that it was wrong of the media to present both sides of the story, since in their view there is only one side - all the Swift Boat Vets for Truth are lying.

When Cal Thomas attempted to cite the statement by William L. Schachte Jr., a retired rear admiral, to the effect that he was on the same small boat as Kerry but did not witness any enemy fire during the event for which Kerry received his first Purple Heart, Gabler totally lost it. He screamed and cut Cal off, determined that there would be no more discussion of the issue.

Never have I seen the libs in such blind panic and fury. They know that Kerry's lies about his record have come home to roost and will ultimately cost him the election. It was glorious!

FOFLOL! I love it when the liberals knash their teeth and have temper tantrums. It's so rare we get to see what they really look like when the masks are off.

Aha! That's an idea that might work for Kerry. If he could tie some kind of dirty trick to Bush. He's tried to link Bush with the Swifties, but that doesn't work because they're honest and real. So it has to be something else, and far worse, like...well, they've already tried to say Bush knew about 9/11 and didn't bother to stop it...which was ludicrous. Frankly, I can't think of what they could pin on Bush that would be worse than that. But they'll try.

Good idea. I have never like Neal Gabler. There's not an honest bone in his body. Jane can be sensible and make an argument, occasionally, but it hurts to look at her!

BTW, does anyone remember the host saying, "Are we through now?" after the extended verbal free-for-all that followed Cal Thomas bringing up Shachter and Gabler's losing it. The host had that "I can't believe this crazy crowd" look on his face.

I don't care which show you watch there is a desperate air of defeat now being displayed by the rats. They are worried and they have a right to be. Their guy has nothing going for him. Before he had 4 months and 11 days of Nam since there was nothing to talk about during his 19 year stint as a tax hiking lib senator. Now there is absolutely nothing except a slogan "beat bush". That ain't enough. If we get a bounce from the convention, and we probably will, it could be over.
