A website for the documentary "Stolen Honor"

“Stolen Honor” investigates how John Kerry’s actions during the Vietnam era impacted the treatment of American soldiers and POWs. Using John Kerry’s own words, the documentary juxtaposes John Kerry’s actions with the words of veterans who were still in Vietnam when John Kerry was leading the anti-war movement.

Currently in the final stages of production, Stolen Honor will be available for broadcast and on DVD and VHS video. In addition, you will be able to view excerpts from the program on this web site.

“In other wars, captured Americans subjected to the hell of an enemy prison were considered heroes. In other wars, they were not abandoned. In Vietnam, they were betrayed.” (Narration from “Stolen Honor”)

“Little did the American prisoners of war imagine that half a world away events were conspiring to make their precarious situation even more desperate. That an American Naval Lieutenant after a 4-month tour of duty in Vietnam was meeting secretly in an undisclosed location in Paris with a top enemy diplomat. That this same lieutenant would later join forces with Jane Fonda to form an anti-war group of so-called Vietnam veterans, some of whom would be later discovered as frauds who never set foot on a battlefield. All this culminating in John Kerry’s Senate testimony that would be blared over loud speakers to convince our prisoners that back home they were being accused and abandoned. Enemy propagandists had found a new and willing accomplice.” (Narration from “Stolen Honor”)

As Grampa Dave said: "Christmas, 1968: Kerry with his Swift Boat Crew
in Scambodia. Kerry is wearing his CIA hat that came from Richard Nixon
a month before Nixon was sworn in as President."

Excerpt from David Limbaugh interview of John O'Neill. This part of a three part interview here.

John O’Neill: Probably the most peculiar one, Cam Ranh Bay is where Kerry started.  There was no real fighting going on at Cam Ranh Bay.  You know, it was a big French resort town and so on.  Kerry was in a room.  One PCF guy walked in and when he walked in, Kerry had green camouflage paint on his face and he was holding a camera about 8 to 10-12 inches in front of him talking into the camera.  This has got to be pretty unusual, you know what I mean?  We didn’t wear green camouflage paint and there was nothing going on Cam Ranh Bay.  The stories about him staging this stuff are legend.  For example, Steve Gardner, as crewman, wouldn’t participate.  He kept wanting Steve Gardner, kind of like a cameraman, for some of the stuff, and Gardner wouldn’t do it.  So, the topic of he and his camera has been a constant topic for years there among the Swift Boat people who were there with him.

"Stolen Honor" sounds like a ripoff of the name "Stolen Valor."

You wrote:

Valor: strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery

Honor: good name or public esteem

It seems to me that in the case of John Kerry and what he did to the reputations of Vietnam Vets and consequently the abhorrent treatment they received after returning, Honor seems to apply better. The vets, particuarly those that were POW's needed valor to survive but ultimately what was lost was their rightful reputations, their honor.

I concur with your comment above!

This may be the best place to ask this question:

Has anyone made an attempt to identify all the "soldiers" on the jacket of Effing's book to determine what "bigger and better" accomplishments they went on to achieve? Are they all in jail? dead? what?

Also, are any of them real soldiers? or just wannabe shit disturbers who liked the attention back then?

"Stolen Honor sounds like a ripoff of the name "Stolen Valor." Don't try to piggyback on other peoples' accomplishments. It's shameful."

Not when one is telling the truth about an event. If you've never served then you wouldn't understand.

"Maybe you should call it "Stolen Name"

Perhaps you should wait until all the facts are in before putting your mouth in gear.

I purchased the Movie, "THE HANOI HILTON" at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago because it was on sale for $5.99. I recall seeing the movie on television many years ago. I had a chance to watch the movie yesterday and now it the movie, more than ever is relevant to the anti-war actives of John Kerry during the Vietnam War and how the POW's were tortured many times due to the actions of John Kerry, Jane Fonda and their friends in the media.

If you have an opportunity I recommend highly that you see this movie and let others get to see just a glimpse of what the POW's went through while held prisoner by the Communist North Vietnamese.

The video is available from Amazon and other online video stores.

From website: "Shot in the Dark" http://www.shotinthedark.info/

"In 1987, Lionel Chetwynd's excellent Hanoi Hilton received widely-mixed reviews (many of them politically-motivated). Worse, its distributor essentially sat on the movie, under pressure from Hollywood leftists, for its treatment of Jane Fonda. The movie depicted life at North Vietnam's Hoa Lo prison accurately - but it changed the last names of the prisoners, and of their visitors, including Jane Fonda. An actress who represents Fonda ("Paula") does everything Fonda is said to have done while in the Hilton. That was one of several stories that Hollywood didn't want told (that and, of course, the moral of the story; the men survived because of their military training and warrior ethic). "Hanoi Hilton" was buried, received a tiny theatrical release, and is hard to find on video today. (Do it if you can - it's an excellent movie)."

On the back of the box there is the following endorsement from President Ronald Reagan:

"Every American should see this powerful and moving film as a tribute to our POW's."

President Ronald Reagan

Hanoi Hilton (1987)

Genre(s): POW/MIA, Vietnam War

Cast: Michael Moriarty, Paul LeMat, Jeffrey Jones, Lawrence Pressman, Stephen Davies, David Soul, Rick Fitts, Aki Aleong, Gloria Carlin; DIRECTED BY: Lionel Chetwynd; WRITTEN BY: Lionel Chetwynd. PRODUCER: Cannon Films.

Review: A brutal drama about the sufferings of American POWs in Vietnamese prison camps. Non-stop torture, filth, and degradation.

Editorial Reviews
Description
A true story about American soldiers interned in North Vietnam during the years 1964 through 1973, and their struggle to survive within the infamous prison complex they dubbed the Hanoi Hilton.

COMMUNISM WAS EVIL, EVIL, EVIL, June 7, 2004
Reviewer: Steven R. Travers (CALIFORNIA) -

One lonely conservative voice has been trying to shout out from the "wilderness" for years. Lionel Chetwynd is a writer/producer who made "The Hanoi Hilton", which actually described the North Vietnamese as the evil torturers they were. The "Hilton" was the moniker given the infamous prison camp where American POW's were kept while Jane Fonda was flirting with our enemies. Liberal film reviewers criticized it. Do not believe them. It is good stuff.

I was in the Air Force during the war and have over 100 combat missions. This is the most accurate presentation of the war that is available. It is a story that needed telling and still needs to be told. It describes the situation of the American prisoners in Vietnam in an accurate and truthful manner. Everyone should see it.

This movie shows what terrible hardships these prisoners had to endure. I had the privilege to talk to one of the wives of these heroes and she confirmed a lot of events shown in this movie. Also stated that she was not allowed to even mention that her husband was shot down for six-months. Tell her that this movie was "too long and over emotional"!! Most Americans just did not want to face reality during this sad time in our Country's history. I was there during 1966-1968 and in Saigon 1970. --This text refers to the VHS Tape edition

Summary: The Libs Hate This One

While this doesn't have the action of 'Rambo' or the surrealism of 'Apocalypse Now', or 'Full Metal Jacket', it does hit dead-on as the most realistic of the Vietnam movies yet.

Most especially, it accurately contrasts the quiet heroism of the POWs with the hypocrisy of the Hollywood Left, and their comrades in the news media; so much in fact, that it is really pretty amazing this film ever got made at all.

Hollywood hated this film. You can see a typical Hollywierdo review of this movie, where it is referred to as "Right-wing bullshit." Go to: http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/80saction/hanoihilton.html

The website is very well done. One of the best I have seen graphically.

1. It would be nice to get verification that this is not some spoof site by the Dems.
2. Also, I tried to buy the video from the site and they want me to provide email and register with the site first. When I want to buy, I don't want to join. Not sure if this is killing their sales on the video, but I did not buy.

If they had a clean PayPal link, I'd buy today.
