Battlegrounds States Poll - August 23, 2004
WALL STREET JOURNEL ^ | August 23, 2004 | Wall Street Journel Online

The contest for the White House remains tight, according to the latest Zogby Interactive poll of likely voters in 16 battleground states. Although the map is awash in blue, with President Bush leading in only two of the battleground states, down from the three states he held three weeks ago, the results in three-quarters of the states in the survey are within the margin of error -- meaning those states remain very hotly contested. Mr. Kerry holds the top spot in 14 of the 16 polled states, up from 13 in the previous poll.

Polls are notoriously wrong - election day, election day, election day - how it rolls off the tongue. And especially the sentence: "Senator Kerry officially conceded the race to President Bush before election day was over." Nice, huh?
Polls will not determine the winner. No need for panic. The convention will certainly boost the fortunes of our president.

Yea, another poll shows Bush only 2 point ahead, TN was in the Bush column. Karl Rove is losing another southern state. When we are going to leave the Freeper Echo Chamber and realize that we are in deep do-do. BIG TIME!

Do you honestly think that Gore will lose his home state, but a Mass liberal will win it?!?!?

This poll flies in the face of other polls I have seen in the past few days. With all the money Hollywood, the assorted leftist 527 groups, Michael Moore, George Soros and the DNC has spent and with the adoration Kerry gets from the mainstream media he should be up at least 15 points right now. The Republicans still haven't had their convention, the big guns of the Party haven't been out campaigning yet and the Bush campaign hasn't even begun their advertising blitz. Kerry will watch helplessly as his dream (and our nightmare)of being president fades with the autumn sun.

this is Zogby Interactive...not even Zogby. Zogby Interactive is like polling FR and expecting an accurate representation of the nation at large.

Been through many political campaign

If you've been through many political campaigns you would know that any projections made in August are nearly useless. Four years ago, after the Dem convention, many pundits all wrote off Bush's chances, said the race was "over" (go check the record if you don't believe me). Settle down and start reading polling stories maybe two weeks before the election. It will help keep your blood pressure down.

I'll make a deal, if Bush wins you can flame you all you want. But Bush loses, you must post, 'ALL HAIL COURAGE, REALITY BITES"

Now click your heals and say "There is no place like home."

I like to look at tradesports.com, where Bush is up and Kerry is down... There people bet real money on the result of the election...

Much more reliable!

I heard on another post, Kerry has lost six points...Bush is going to bash Kerry and then Courage will be encouraged instead of discouraged I think.

Those results are laughable. Note that Zogby has Bush up by 19 points and now Kerry up by 2. I think we can all safely discard his so-called "Interactive" polls.
