"my mom tries to defend Bush to her church bingo friends"...
Have your Mom look her "CHURCH FRIENDS" directly in the eye, and state, "kerry is a BABY KILLER, both in Viet Nam, and in supporting Abortion Rights!

Wallace gave the worst of it to Odell, let Hurley start with the attacks and smears against the swifties, but a lot better than the hatchet job by Chris Matthews.
It would blow a hole into this whole thing, and I'm sure that's why it's not being said.
McCain is still very bitter, I think, about what happened to him during his primary run in 2000.
Welcome to Free Republic! It is an addictive source of news!
Here's the influence of the Swiftboat vets, IMHO.
They are just normal guys. They come across as credible, not as politicians. Even that Hurley fellow smacked of political smugness.
Good point.
Thanks...I've saved your research for future reference.
Yours is a good example of THE BIG STORY the mainstream media is still missing. For decades we all watched the media spin (or ignore) stories to the benefit of Dems. We could only yell at our TV's.
The internet has changed all that. The "silent majority" is no longer squelched. Today we can read an article, Google the "facts" in it, discover innacuraces, then contact appropriate bloggers who spread the word---all in a matter of minutes. (Just imagine what we could do if FR could buy us a subscription to Lexis/Nexis!) In the old media, a journalist will spend days or weeks deciding whom to interview and which quotes to use in his coverage. On FR and the blogs, thousands of eyewitnesses come forward simultaneously with documents and personal accounts to verify a story. They are backed up by other posters with links to relevant articles, documents and other evidence.
Today the media believes the furor over Kerry's records is fueled by partisan hatred. They have no idea that it's MEDIA BIAS that gets our dander up more than any other factor. They still live in a world where they think a story will die if they don't cover it. In this case, the story GREW specifically because they tried to hide it. Their deliberate bias ADDED fuel to the fire.
For those of us who spent decades watching the media spin for the Dems, it's truly an amazing development. And, as usual, the media has either missed the story or editorialized that such "uncontrolled" research is dangerous!
Hey media! We're a large segment of the news-consuming society you say the nation needs. Ye hardly know me.
I think you may be right.
"It will be beyond ironic if years from now, when all is said and done, Kerry is the one who finally gave us the chance to lance that boil and allow it to begin to heal."
That is a terrific observation.
Hurley is a turd with the ability to speak.
(okay, and throw in a bit of EGO to the mix, too),
I knew I could never vote for McCain to be the leader of the free world.
You need to be WAY more level headed than that, to be the one that could potentially push the button.
Brit was talking to Juan in such a condescending tone today.
Usually he's just mad at him and reacts.
Today's responses to Juan were measured, calm, collected...almost as if he were the parent trying to explain a situation to a child (but come to think of it Juan did seem like a child calling al the Swiftvets "liars").
Good summary of the effect of the blogosphere. I'd add that the sheer number of participants makes the dissemination of information self-policing. The archeo-media ceased to be self-policing with the demise of competition.
Or, is the dirty little secret that his records almost certainly support some damaging things the SwiftVets are saying ... and the MSM knows it.
I do believe that the whole affair regarding VN has been cathartic for our VN veterans and American citizens who lived during that era. I know it has been for me.

I agree with you. The anti-military Dems had no idea what the real feelings are of the 5 million Vietnam vets and their families. Kerry and his advisors have truly opened Pandora's box.
It is finally the revenge of the patriots! And a serious healing for the vets.
