Credit: The Cabal The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger. "Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix." We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned. |

I also must say, you did tons of work keeping up with the illnesses and contributing in so many ways, did I ever thank you enough? Does anyone here feel their work goes to naught and not acknowledged? I hope not, that is sad but happens when a group of collective talent is involved in one singular thread, as in most jobs, our co-workers just take us for granted.
Hard to say welcome because so many here made TM what it is. But you have always been my ace and the best!
I pray for your little girl, she has been through so much M'Dear, my prayers and heart are with you and her!
Well, maybe with the WOT, I've been accused of not doing nuttin' hopefully something will come of this! I count on you and my friends here to ping me to anything important, the inside scoop as ONLY TM does it!
Thanks for you and your daughters efforts. :0)
The police continuously revise tactics to face threats. If they dont, someone ends up dead.
Suicide bombers present a challenge to a police officer who confronts him. You have to stop this guy from killing people, and you are a patrolman armed with a pistol of maybe a shotgun. You cant fire center mass because you may detonate the charge and people ( including yourself) die.
Most of the tactics developed to deal with suicide bombers come from Israel, and they arent pretty. They range from sacrificing yourself to blunt the explosion and fragments ( the jump on a hand grenade approach) to talking them down with negotiations.
The bombers have evolved too. Now they shoot their way into an intended target to remove resistance so they can explode themselves.
Standard rules dont apply to suicide bombers.
Thanks for all you have done!
TM sure won't be the same without you. It's almost our one year anniversary too. You will be sorely missed.
Thanks for the helpful scanner info/advice.
Gold up to $406.30 while the USD has dropped below the $88.00 level to $87.97. It looks like foreign investors are pulling money out of the US the last couple of days.
Heartfelt prayers for your granddaughter's surgery, MamaDearest.
Thank you, Mossad. Great summary. I'm concerned that Iran and Al Qaeda are teaming up for an assault on CONUS. It's sounding more and more like Iran is blustering from a position of strength (re: nuclear capability) versus desperation. It doesn't make sense for them to pick a fight if they're THIS CLOSE to achieving nuclear critical mass. I would venture that they're further along than we are being made aware...
I used to joke that if the Soviets ever wanted to invade the United States, they could come through Tijuana unimpeded. It's no joke now that Al Qaeda can do just about the same thing.
The Wall Street Journal today reports that al Qaeda cells have MULTIPLIED in Pakistan since Musharraf's crackdown -- that the Pak middle class is becoming increasingly disilluisoned with Pervez' relationship with the U.S.
If anyone thinks the War on Terror has a foreseeable finish line, they're mistaken. Unless moderate Islamics are willing to police their own radicals, a confrontation (or event) is inevitable. Based on the inability of our homegrown (and transplanted) moderate Muslims to even simply vocalize their displeasure with Islamo-fascism, it doesn't seem likely we will resolve the problem anytime soon.
REPORTER FACES DEATH TOMORROW (in Iraq)

Prayers for the reporter Micah Garen!
My fear is that we blew the "pre-emptive" card with Iraq. Intelligence may have overestimated the probability of a counter-revolution against the Iranian clerics, placing them at a lower priority than Saddam Hussein.
I think it will be extremely difficult to play the pre-emptive card with Iran. Israel has a better hand to play than we do, given their direct vulnerability to the Iranian medium-range missile. As insane as it sounds, world support of the United States would probably vanish (these are indeed times of insanity) if we launched another pre-emptive war on Iran. As long as the Israeli trump card exists, I wouldn't expect the U.S. to strike Iran UNLESS - unless - a terrorist attack occurs on U.S. soil which can be pinned on Iran, or Iran's support of Al Qaeda. At that point, all bets are off.
Gas storage facility explosion in Liberty Co. Texas, NOW.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AT CWLP PLANT (Illinois)
(WAND) A citizen has reported suspicious people, taking pictures of the CWLP plant in Springfield. This week, officers questioned two men, who had reportedly taken several photo's of the power station and power lines. The men, who officials say are of indian descent, were reportedly here on Visa's. The Joint Terrorism Task Force and Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center were notified. The two were taken into custody by immigration officials, they were later released. Authorities say, two men of middle eastern descent, were stopped there a couple weeks ago for taking pictures, also. They told authorities they were photographing ducks.

Second recent incident at this plant
Ah, crap.
Is it on the TV news? Where'd you hear it?
It was on MSNBC. They had live footage -- looked like a fairly large fire... BTW, oil is pricing near $48.00 now...
***Natural gas blast rocks Houston suburb***
Smoke soared thousands of feet into the air over the pipeline explosion. MOSS BLUFF, Texas An explosion early Thursday at an underground gas storage facility near Houston has forced dozens of residents to evacuate from the area, say authorities who also closed nearby roads.
Houses within a one-mile radius around the Moss Bluff gas storage facility were ordered evacuated after natural gas exploded at about 4 a.m., authorities said.
"We've got dozens of evacuations," said Cathy Jones, a dispatcher for the Liberty County Sheriff's Department.
She said no injuries had been reported.
Highways near the facility along Farm-to-Market Road 563 at the Liberty-Chambers counties' border were shut down following the explosion. Residents beyond a one-mile radius of the plant were asked to stay in their homes.
One person inside the facility at the time of the blast was able to escape, authorities said. But rescue crews were searching for any other people who may have been inside.
Emergency crews remained on the scene three hours after the blast. A cause of the explosion has not been determined.
According to the Duke Energy Web site, the Moss Bluff facility has a storage capacity of 16 billion cubic feet of natural gas and is linked to 5 major pipelines stretching from New York to far South Texas.
Moss Bluff is about 40 miles northeast of Houston.
The area is dotted with manmade caverns inside salt domes, which are the world's largest storage site for explosive hydrocarbons. One underground gas leak in 1980 forced 72 families from their homes in nearby Mont Belvieu for almost five months.
