Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims.
Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.
THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

Barnes is calling for JfnK to step forward and explain the Cambodia story. All agree this should get the same level of scrutiny that GWB's service got.

Cameron better watch out. He'll be on Bill O'Reilly and Dick Morris' "crap lists" for questioning Kerry's service.

Juan Williams: [Handwringing] Oh, this is all Republican attacks on poor Johnny. It isn't a character issue, even if all of his Vietnam exploits are lies. He volunteered, so we should elect him President.
Fred Barnes is countering Juan, making Juan look pretty stupid in his feeble attempts to defend Kerry.
Even Mara Liason didn't go out on the limb to defend Kerry, although she did say words to the effect that Kerry lying about being in Cambodia is a lesser thing than his heroism in getting all those Purple Hearts.

Poor Carl was assigned to the Kerry camp. He seems like a straight shooter so I'm betting he didn't volunteer. I notice that some days he has trouble keeping s straight face as he reports so maybe he is getting some yucks out of it. Carl loves what he is doing and has said so on C-Span a few months ago. I believe he said presidential elections are his favorite type of elections to cover.

I can't stand that MORON Juan! WHAT a freakin Buttockisser he is! In certain words he said that what the difference between this is that KERRY want to Vietnam! or something to that effect! UGGHH

I've missed those threads and I guess I'm glad I did.
To: Howlin
I believe the person that Fred Barnes suggested to call is dead.
However, on the greater issue here, I'm totally psyched that FOX has decided to run with this. Get Kerry on the defensive. Way to go, Special Report!!!!!

Also, just hearing on Hugh Hewitt right now that the Khmer Rouge weren't formed until 1970, so they couldn't have been shooting at Kerry in 1968. They didn't exist. This just keeps getting worse for Kerry and his so-called explanation that hasn't been coming.

Barnes says ask Jess Carreon (sp?) about Kerry's first Purple Heart. Carreon is dead. Why doesn't Barnes know this?
