I used to think Jay Leno was pretty unbiased becaue he always seemed to hand it out evenly to both sides. This year we face a presidential election and Leno has been worse than ever in his shows. He usually only makes 1-2 jokes per day about Kerry and they're usually only just about the size of his head. Rather with Bush, he frequently shows taped bumblings, ridicules his policy, and comments that infer Bush is stupid and untruthful. Screw Leno. Screw his program. I'm dome watching it. I can see through his bias programming. Liberal Lettermen and Liberal Leno are now the same person.
Leno lost me when he dropped a ton of bucks rebuilding a Buick (rhymes with Puke).
Evidently, the boy has more "$'s" than brains.
Then me plea would be for Fox News to please ...produce a late night comedy talk show, just to make sure the ripping is "fair and balanced."
Agree..the Love Story was funny.
But will leave this thread now as..hittin' a little too close to personal. It always amazes me those that " but I don't watch Leno, but it doesnt surprise me".."those damn Hollywood types"...talk about stereotyping someone you don't even know.
This is more of a chat thread..and should be treated as such.
To make you feel better ;) From the late night comedy mavens ..
The Secret Service has announced it is doubling
its protection for John Kerry. You can understand
why - with two positions on every issue, he has
twice as many people mad at him." -Jay Leno
"We make jokes about it but the truth is this
presidential election really offers us a choice of two
well-informed opposing positions on every issue. OK,
they both belong to John Kerry, but they're still
there." -Jay Leno
"John Kerry will undergo surgery to repair his right
shoulder. He originally hurt it when he suddenly
switched positions on Iraq." -Craig Kilborn
"President Bush listed his income as $822,000. You
know what John Kerry calls someone who earns
$822,000? Not even worth dating." -Jay Leno
"Well the good news for Democrats, now over half
the country can identify a picture of John Kerry.
The bad news, the majority still thinks he's the
dad from The Munsters." -Jay Leno
"John Kerry accused President Bush of catering to
the rich. You know, as opposed to John Kerry who
just marries them." -Jay Leno
"They say John Kerry is the first Democratic presidential
candidate in history to raise $50 million in a three-month
period. Actually, that's nothing. He once raised $500
million with two words: 'I do.'" -Jay Leno
"Today, John Kerry announced a fool-proof plan to wipe out the $500B deficit. John Kerry has a plan, he's going to put it on his wife's Gold Card." -Craig Kilborn
I got to meet Leno in 2002. He is a really nice, friendly, warm man. He is a liberal democrat. But he is really nice and down to earth for a celeb. He was rude to George Stepalloverus when we went to his show. The audience was silent! but they added a laugh track so that when the show was on that night - it sounded like Jay got a BIG laugh. Show biz. He made a comment about George needing a HIGH CHAIR. No one thought THAT was funny!
FUNNY STUFF!
I don't watch Leno or Letterman, so I don' know if these jokes are as bad as what Leno says about President Bush. However, I came across these tonight in an email and am eager to "share them" with my friends ;) LOL
between Leno and Conan, Kerry and Teresa got hammered last night!
as for Letterman, after the "shove it" incident, he called Teresa a gold mine of comedy material!
Letterman seems to have forgotten 9/11/2001 and when people wondered if it was alright to laugh again. People who would laugh at terrorist attack warnings would also laugh at funerals.
Brit Hume showed a clip from of all places, Letterman, the other night.
Letterman had spliced together parts of Ted Kennedy's speech at the convention.
It was done seamlessly and was hysterical.
Kennedy says " John Kerry.. and John Edwards .. are.. gays. "
Everyone on the panel was howling,as was I.
I watch Leno every night. I agree with the person who posted that the existing president gets more nibbles than the incumbent. Bush is Smeagol in Lord of the Rings. His intelligence level is poor, he's selfish and greedy. There is so much rich to joke about with Smeagol -- how can an intelligent comedian resist? Besides, that is what America is all about. We've got that handy-dandy remote that enables us to change stations. I like to take in as much info. as possible to make the most intelligent decisions -- both sides -- both Rep & Dem jokes.
Bing registered his name on FR on August 4, 2004. His account has been banned or suspended since he posted on this thread. I guess he is what Rush would call a "seminar poster".
Jay Leno is really not that bad. I woudn't be suprised if he actually votes republican.
He collects cars and motorcycles, and likes nascar. Plus Schwarzenegger announced his run on the tonight show. I sort of feel like that was a turning point for Leno. Since then he seems to show more support for Republicans.
He just had Bill Maher on. He savaged Bush for 22 minutes.
Leno used to be much, much more biased in years past. He would try to link any Republican to Pat Buchanan, and then make KKK jokes.
Leno went softer on Bush when we liberated Afghanistan. His wife has been an anti-Taliban Activist for many years. She seems to be the only person in Hollywood that noticed that Islamo-Fascists treat women like crap, and that Bush has liberated more women than every feminist from the last 30 years combined.
Leno will go for a joke when there's a joke there. The problem is that he is more likely to see the joke when it involves a Republican, and when it involves a democrat he's more likely to think it's not funny.
Some of his writers are obvious Rush Limbaugh fans, so sometimes something sneaks in that's absolutely hilarious.
If you want to read late night jokes without watching the smarmy hosts, you can go to newsmax.com and click on "late night jokes" (or whatever the link is called). This is archived back many years. It used to be much, much worse when Bill Maher was considered to be a "late night comedian".
Excellent observation!
