In Rush's closing segment he said that he just received a story or document saying that lawyers for both the Kerry and Edwards teams were sending out letters to TV stations warning them about showing the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth advertisement!
Was he lying when he said he committed war atrocities?
...or is he lying now?
Probably a little of both.
If he lied to the media and lied to Congress (as he asserted in 2001, "the words of an angry young man") then he was a traitor to his country in a time of war. He provided aid and comfort to the enemy and demoralized the troops.
If he told the truth about violating the Geneva Conventions, then he is an unindicted war criminal.
He may have claimed to have witnessed more horrific attrocities so as to clear his own name ("others did worse").
If I understand correctly, Kerry's boat was the only one to cut out and run. I didn't remember that Rassmussen was on Kerry's boat. I guess some remnant of humanity compelled him to return. But he got to Rassmussen just a moment before another boat reached him--one which had not cut and run.
Wouldn't that make an interesting headline :
"Kerry Campaign Files Suit Against Television Stations Regarding Campaign Ads"
What moron is in charge of his damage control?
Haven't the television stations successfully refused anti-abortion ads in the past?
And, can't the swift boat vets sue the television stations themselves if their ads are refused?
What does anyone expect from FASCIST/SOCIALIST/COMMIE/EVIL DUMS?
"Typical of Kerry and Edwards to resort to lawsuits rather than actually refuting each charge with facts!"
While we are on the subject, time for tort reform!
I think it's EE. The color matches Kerry's clean room suit. Coincidence?
NAZI HYPOCRISY ALERT!
I don't think that the stations will show the ad at all. This threat is just to give the media cover for refusing to run the ad. We need to demand that the media not censor the ads because John Kerry has never denied the allegations in the ad, as a matter of fact he testified to the truth of some of the worst allegations before congress. We need to get those quotes of Kerry claiming to have committed the very war crimes that the ad alleges and fleshes out in full detail, and start an e-mail campaign to the media.
I have no way of knowing without reading the text. My guess would be that the text of the statement is not threatening.
But when a lawyer sends you a note on official letterhead, is there a difference between a warning and a thread? I think not :)
Yep. I think that Kerry will have his lawyers going full steam with lawsuit after lawsuit, trying to invalidate the election in key districts. Another sign that the Demo party is a species that has come to the end of the evolutionary cycle.
So Kerry pulled a guy out of the water (that he dumped in by accident). Good for Kerry.
But - does this deserve a medal? What about Odell's boat staying by the hit boat to pull out the injured. In Kerry's medal award the gov't says he travelled 3.2 miles downriver under intense small arms fire. 3.2 MILES? And none of the other boats were fired on while picking up the injured, or when THEY left down river?
I think if O'Reilly is being too easy on Kerry its so he isn't bashing the military and our veterens. And yes, there is enough to get Kerry on his post-Vietnam actions.
However, I think that THESE vets are defending THEIR honor.
File a lawsuit to get an injuction claiming slander to prevent it from being shown. It doesn't matter if it is true or not, the idea is to preven the ad from being shown. The First Amendment has no meaning at all for the 'Rats.
"To Swift Boat Vets. all:
Just a note to advise you that we ( XXXXXXX & XXXXX XXXXX, Inverness, FL) are behind you and what you are doing 100%.
God bless you!

Thanks for the suggestion, and I hope many more follow your lead.
But look at all the publicity this is going to generate for the ad. Hey, THIS THREAD WAS TAKING ABOUT 10 POST A MINUTE a short time ago.
Thank you, thank you very much.....
