The trends are all toward Republicans
Minneapolis (Red) Star Tribune / Scripps Howard News Service ^ | August 2, 2004 | JAMES K. GLASSMAN

Watching John Kerry give his acceptance speech, I was reminded of Richard Nixon. Kerry not only said he would make short shrift of an annoying war - but he also appeared shifty and sweaty, jowly and sallow, bobbing and weaving in front of the camera and "racing furiously," as the Washington Post's Tom Shales put it, through his text, as though he wanted to get finished in time to get to Locke-Ober's for supper. No wonder there was barely a bounce.

On the other hand, maybe I don't know what I am talking about. The headline on a Salon.com article reviewing the speech said, "The pundits on Kerry: He nailed it." Oh, well. Instant political analysis is not my strong suit. I am sick of it - of the talk about who'll win West Virginia, the hair-splitting polling, the speculation over whether a terror attack will help George Bush. This is short-termism. It misses the forest for the trees.

Genxer for W right here. It is the baby boomers who are the most liberal and out of it as far as I am concerned.

A party who runs a wishy washy liberal war hero/peacenik and trial lawyer at the top of their ticket and has an impeached President as their standard bearer with his sort of wife Senator from NYC is not looking at a good future.

I predict a Republican blow out and at least picking up 5 senate seats.

I'm really looking forward to the increasingly likely "progressive" freakout this fall.

You won't be able to buy that kind of entertainment.

I remember Rush sayings, in 1996 or 2000, that when liberals are out of power they're really funny. I think it was 2000. Some people were saying to him, "What will you do without Clinton to bash anymore?"

He has been completely correct. The last four years of liberal inanity surpassed my wildest imagination. I can hardly wait for the next four.

Liberals were already hiding their real agenda in 1992. Now they won't talk about their record (Kerry) or their real positions on issues. Kerry came out and said he had a "secret plan". That worked for Nixon in 1968. I can't see Kerry pulling it off and getting elected.

This tactic of his cracks me up, assuming as it does we're a bunch of rubes.

You're right - people today won't buy it . This ain't 1968.

You say "Reagan babies" like that's a bad thing....

No, I write Reagan babies in the interest of accuracy. The term "Reagan Generation" is misleading and tries to ride the "Greatest Generation" wagon. The big difference is that the GG earned the title through action. The Reagan babies had absolutely zero input in bringing RWR to office, they just happened to be born just prior to or during his tenure.

You are wrong.

We take the name the "Reagan Generation" not to honor ourselves but to honor a great man who had such a wonderful positive influenced on us all.

As for your statistical analysis, what are the real numbers? If the "boomer" group is significantly larger than the Reagan babies in terms of real numbers then how many actual votes will be counted from each group, and which group is more likely to vote in the first place. Stats (from a poll!) can be twisted to fit nearly any argument, even one from a one trick

Again, You sound pissed off the younger generations are more Conservative than the previous ones, Isn't that a good thing?

But you are making my point. If the Liberal leaning Baby Boomers are "significantly larger" then the Conservative leaning Gen-X and Gen-Y then when the Liberal leaning Baby Boomers die off and the Conservative leaning Gen-X and Y become the majority what does that mean for the Democrats?

"The war on terror may become a battle with two fronts.
It already is. I've thought for some time that Axis of Evil = Islamofascism + International Socialism. Look at the ANSWER goons marching and organizing. Look at Michael Moore. The second front may not be violent (yet) but it surely is real."

Look at post #26, then go to the ANSWER website in answer to your question about ANSWER being affiliated with socialism to print out for your wacky professor.

Violent dems is something we should look forward to. When they FINALLY tip over the edge into violence we will be on the verge of REAL victory. They will start the violence, WE will finish it.

I just hope my eyesight is still good.

My reference was to your recent suspension, not my fault if you see it as something else.

Here we see further issue of the personality flaw that leads desperate people like this guy to critique your spelling. He's actually keeping tabs on people he doesn't know and has never met. How depressing is that?

I don't believe you.

Nothing on this forum rises to the level that could be described as pissing me off. Whining is annoying or amusing depending on the mood, like loud, giggling 13 year old girls at the mall. (btw RWR was elected in the first presidential election wherein boomers were able to vote in numbers sufficient to influence the outcome.)

_____________________________________________________

Your analysis of the poll that you cite is faulty. Boomers are, by definition of the term, between the ages of 39 and 58. The survey you posted has no such category. In fact all boomers born 1955 - 1964 fall into the same box as Reagan babies (18-49). The category you cite as being proof that boomers are liberal in their voting is the 50-64 year old. Half of those years are non-boomer.

Either you intentionally misrepresent or you don't know how to interpret data. Based on your history of dishonest posting (boomers are responsible for the destruction of the Black family, one of my all time favorites Q1 lies), I will opt to go with intentionally misrepresented.

And I don't care.

Enjoy We’re Not Gen-X, We’re Gen-Reagan

Notice I said "Hippie" Baby Boomers, You've been stalking these threads long enough to know the difference between the Hippie Baby Boomers and the later Disco era/Generation Jones boomers (especially the one born after 1959) who are slightly better.

They were the numbers I used because they were the numbers that just happen to breaking at the time, Past articles show the same thing

Polls show youth leaning to Bush

Ideological Crossroads: Gen X Marks the Spot (Xers Turning More Conservative as they age; Gen Y too)

It’s Morning After in America

(Rush Limbaugh on)James Glassman on the Next Generation

Young, politically active -- and in support of Bush

The category you cite as being proof that boomers are liberal in their voting is the 50-64 year old. Half of those years are non-boomer.

Well the late silents aren't that great either, But the Boomers way out number them so you can't have that big of difference caused solely because of the silents.

Yeah, How silly of me, The black family has done just so well since the boomers.

Yep, I don't understand, Here's a Freeper who is actually upset that the younger generations are trending Conservative. Isn't that what we want to happen?

I'm Gen-X and I am ecstatic that the younger Gen-Y in college and high school right is even more conservative and active than we were at their age and I hope Gen-Z is even more so.

__________________________________________

There you go again. This sentence is the perfect sample of your particular brand of whining dishonesty. You know very well that it was LBJ instigated social welfare programs that led to the destruction of the Black family. You also know well that no boomer was old enough to vote for or against him. Yet, here you imply and in other posts you have stated as fact that boomers created this.

The problem, as with all lies presented as fact (whether it's you, Kerry, Janeane Garafolo or Jesee Jackson telling the lies), is that there are people who know even less than you do about what is true and are liable to buy your falsehoods. Maybe that's what you want, but if so, what does that say about you?

Honesty is the cornerstone upon which any good character is built. You may be cute and clever but you lack honesty and without it your character cannot be better than second rate.

He is a sad, overly dramatic blowhard who gave himself a ridiculously arrogant screen-name because he thinks he did more than anyone else after 911. He is also a coward in real life. Don't waste your time with him.

You are dreaming on Murray ever having been in play. WA state is packed to the gills with union D's.

Boeing moving taught them nothing, and winning the 7E7 work has convinced them that D's can be good for business.

Never mind that job growth is in reverse, and unemployment in WA state leads the nation.

Wack jobs like McDermott are celebrities here.

I dunno.
Every time I see Kerry and/or Edwards, that song "I wanna be a cowboy" pops into my head.
