Fair Warning, This is a VANITY rant.
I have been watching (lurking), for quite a while. I have come to the conclusion that, since FR has almost assumed "icon" status as an alternative news outlet, there seems to have been an "organized" effort at using FR as a vehicle for subverting thought.
Most recently, there have been some interesting banter, usually between the same individuals, about how much better CNN has become and how FNC has degraded, and how "so and so" isn't watching FNC anymore because of.....(insert some bogus issue here).....
After you break the code, it is almost hysterical to watch.
The usual targets seem to be Fox News Channel, ANY gun post, and FR in general.
I would just caution and advise all of us old-timer, hard-corps Freepers, be aware that you may be the subject of manipulation on the part of the notorious "seminar callers" of Rush Limbaugh fame.
As a note of warning to the "opinion shapers" that think they are being clever on FR. I have been documenting chapter and verse and send it to the Mods regularly.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled threads........

Nobodies opinions mold my thought without a great argument and facts aplenty. I was reading something the other day and suddenly I realized Kerry has the best hair and should get elected President

Funny thing about Bill O'Reilly and me. A number of years ago, I hardly found anything he said that I disagreed with. The last 1-2 years, I find myself watching and catch myself saying to him what the he** are you talkin' about, Bill? Or Why are you letting him spin like that, are you slipping?, etc.

Glad someone with seniority pointed it out. You call that seniority? :=) The phrase "older than dirt" jumps to mind.....

That's a depressing thing to read. I suppose it could be true - my mother loves to gossip about celebrities. I don't give a rat's ass about them - they're mostly nutty liberals anyway (who don't know the meaning of the word 'enervate' - like Mr. Affleck).
I don't watch TV; as any real right-winger knows, the best information is in the blogosphere.

I don't know if the claim of organized subversion at FR will hold up, but there definitely are such efforts being directed at other politically oriented websites. Fortunately these are on the other side.
Operation Indy-borg, as far as I can tell, is designed to subvert the extreme left by pushing the hot-buttons of drug-culture paranoia. In general, political conspiracy theories are intended to incite outrage and mobilize action. With a few adjustments, they can go well beyond that and sow confusion and panic (especially in a highly susceptible target group), and divert attention into unproductive lines of discussion. The Left is uniquely vulnerable to this kind of black propaganda, all the more so since their media allies conventionally and quite falsely represent paranoid conspiracy theories as an exclusively right-wing phenomenon.

Maybe it's time to dust that word off and start using it.

Pardon?..instead of labelling a troll, a troll, call them a disruptor...more descriptive..but then there are strictly disruptors.
I don't know any resident trolls but I've been having a discussion with a disruptor who is interjecting his disdain, accusations, bashing of a certain religion into an unrelated thread subject..(my opinion, not his...)
Fox is getting bashed, too, though the subject was carried and is carried on all three cable channels...

At least half of what has been on O'I'm-full-of-myself's Spin Factor have been fairly accurate in the past year. In the past month he's done enough damgae to my confidence in him because of his pandering to liberalism and trying to suck in more liberal viewers by sucking up to his liberal guests, I'v just about had it with him.
He's approaching being a liberal himself by giving the liberals so much air time when there are som many great conservative causes and people he could be helping out with air time.
I smell money.

Do they honestly think they will get those of us who watch Fox News to change? They may just entice some new viewers who want to see what it's all about!

Oh, I remember you. I even happen to remember where you were on 12/31/99! As for all of the people pinged here, I remember all of your names, except for: NO!, redwhit, ozzymandus and texrep (but there are a lot of names with tex in them- also: dog, chad, momma and chick.)
Of course, just because I don't remember someone's name doesn't mean that the poster is not genuine. I was just remarking in general. No offense intended. Just wondering.
NotJustAnotherPrettyFace: That is one really great name! ( Idon't like mine, but i'm stuck with it.) I remember technochick99 (very cool name), Rebelbase, quidnuc, Connectthedots, (another really good one), MarMema, Palladin (Lots of good posts) and randog. And probably hundreds, maybe even thousands of others.
BTW, what ever happened to Ed Zeppelin?
I've been reading this forum nearly every day since 1999! I'm not a great poster myself, but I certainly have learned a lot!
