Fair Warning, This is a VANITY rant.
I have been watching (lurking), for quite a while. I have come to the conclusion that, since FR has almost assumed "icon" status as an alternative news outlet, there seems to have been an "organized" effort at using FR as a vehicle for subverting thought.
Most recently, there have been some interesting banter, usually between the same individuals, about how much better CNN has become and how FNC has degraded, and how "so and so" isn't watching FNC anymore because of.....(insert some bogus issue here).....
After you break the code, it is almost hysterical to watch.
The usual targets seem to be Fox News Channel, ANY gun post, and FR in general.
I would just caution and advise all of us old-timer, hard-corps Freepers, be aware that you may be the subject of manipulation on the part of the notorious "seminar callers" of Rush Limbaugh fame.
As a note of warning to the "opinion shapers" that think they are being clever on FR. I have been documenting chapter and verse and send it to the Mods regularly.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled threads........

I like cleaning my guns while watching FNC and contemplating when I'll next logon to FreeRepublic.
Is that the "subversion" you're speaking of?

I think there is something to what you say - but apart from posers or seminar callers, don't you think that Fox has changed as well?
The Fox I watch today is different than the Fox from 3 years ago.
FWIW, Fox is my only tv news source.

FoxNews is the best of them all, but they spend way too much time on silly scandals (Scott Peterson, Kobe, Michael Jackson, etc., etc., etc.).This is to appeal to women, and it's part of the reason that FOX is winnings in the ratings.

If you want to send this to the mods, go for it. I'm sure they'll thank you.

Nobody is going to change my attitude that CNN is anything but a suckfest. Unless there is a complete changeover at CNN, I won't believe much they put over their Pravdarian outlet.

What bothers me most, and has for about a year, is when people pop up with '98 screen names- people I've NEVER heard of. Either they're selling '98 names on Ebay, or hacking the server is up for discussion. Makes me wonder.

I completely quit watching Fox News on the television a few months ago. Just about the time that I moved and forgot to pack to TV. ;>)
If anything important happens, I'll catch it on FR, Fox Online, or (if the leftists allow) on C-SPAM.
Welcome to FR, BTW.

We've been under attack for months.
The strong personalities (that attract the DNC trolls) have morphed in a defensive measure to confuse the new trolls.
It works. It sucks not truly knowing who's who, but the trolls aren't sure of their targets anymore.
Put another way, the Rats aren't taking out bank loans anymore where on the 'purpose' line they write "taking down FR."

You're not a troll, you spelt your words right, used punctuation and capital letters.
