THE ZOGBYs are long time democrat folks.
The pollster advises the DNC....and the Zogby that manages stuff actually works on contracts with the Dems.
So the Zogby poll is usually way skewed for favor.
THE PANEL AT MSNBC SAID THAT THEY SEE KERRY ONLY GETTING A 5+POINT BUMB IN THE POLLS. One said maybe up to 7.
Coming into today...most had agreed that Kerry needed 12 -15 and it needed to last well past two weeks.
It's like PBS or NPR here. Pure BS, and Natural Pure Rubbish.
But lots of targets of opportuinity to compare Kerrys "soaring rhetoric" tonight with his votes in the senate.
I have that evil grin on my mug that I get when I sense something is going to happen to make things right with the world.
The Swift Boat guys have written a new book, I think its already #2 at Amazon. If you get a chance read it and judge for yourself who is telling the truth.
I wouldn't touch JFK's Vietnam experience. It would only look petty and provides an obvious opening for the Dem attack dogs (who'll get plenty of media coverage -- remember that the playing field is far from level).
My advice: use *humor*, straight talk, specifics, and optimism.
They will claim he is being bashed regardless.
Right now I'm furious.
I know this man's character. I know their opinion of faith and God.
It doesn't remove the sheer anger I feel at what he did tonight. How DARE he position himself as the Highest authority. How DARE he think he has a RIGHT to mock G.W. for his love of Christ?
He offended me tonight and I doubt I'm the only one.
The Senator, IF he believes in the God I do, had better wake up. He has NO authority whatsoever to state G.W. may not demonstrate his faith. None of these people do.
He CLAIMS to be a Christian. Well, Senator, we are ALL held accountable to the REAL authority that watches over this country. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes at this moment.
I did not watch it all but I did think from what I saw this guy would make a fair Republican as long as he is supervised...I think President Bush should welcome Kerry's new found toughness and promise to find a nice job for him in his next administration.....he could work under Cheney or something
We need to respond to his 'notice' the same way we would to Bin Laden's...'cause this guy is a terrorist, too.
He AND Edwards issued their threats making any criticism of their records 'negative campaigning'.
Bush already faced down one hectoring angry man in the 2000 debates...
I thought the speech was a flop. Quite frankly, I have a weak stomach for these things. I didn't expect to watch very much because of it... but I wound up keeping it on the entire time as he was doing so horribly, and I was having a good time watching it.
Of course, some argue that the country is fedup with Bush and Kerry need only offer himself up as a credible alternative. Did he do that tonight? I don't think so.
Thanks you for your input
I understand what you are saying about the Stem Cell
But the research is in ADULT cells and that is what needs to be pointed out
I'm sure they'll all be very positive, right?
If the balloons won't drop ..
You must flip-flop. ;-)
Let me help you with some of this. Other than celebrating the military, which he won't use, unless in extremis, and spending more in the military, and leaving the national guard back home to cut lawns, Kerry did not sound like a Republican - not even a moderate Republican. I have an ear for moderate Republicanism. I know that melody quite well, both in major and minor key.
you are quick on the audio Mojo! thanks
My thoughts exactly. He didn't mention his 20 year Senate career as if that period of public service was something to be ashamed of. If America is indeed a liberal, progressive country, why hide the fact you're a liberal. The only way the gap can be explained is John F*ckin' thinks the American people will not accept an honest to God liberal in the White House and he's right. He hopes he can fool Americans into thinking he's not really who he really is. That's how liberals see us: as stupid dolts in need of THEIR guidance.
The problem, though, with that, is that the Bush campaign has been attacking Kerry for the last several months. In fact, that has been the vast majority of their campaigning, has been attacking Kerry. They're already under fire for running such a negative campaign and swing voters are sure to feel alienated by such "politics of division," as the talking heads have repeated over and over. Most swing voters don't have an unfavorable opinion of either Bush or Kerry so if Bush can make a good case for why swing voters should vote for him, instead of against Kerry, I think he can do pretty well. Save the attacks for after the convention.
If you take the four main speeches - Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Kerry - they were completely uncoordinated and in many places contradictory. The only common thread was that John Kerry served in Vietnam.
He would have done better admitting he was a liberal, and justifying that. But he can't be sincere, because he has no "core values" (other than self-promotion). Everything is tangled up inside him, like a big string ball of inconsistent positions. That's why he dared to say he would balance the bidget while promising the biggest expansion of middle class entitlements since FDR.
