The problem, though, with that, is that the Bush campaign has been attacking Kerry for the last several months. In fact, that has been the vast majority of their campaigning, has been attacking Kerry. They're already under fire for running such a negative campaign and swing voters are sure to feel alienated by such "politics of division," as the talking heads have repeated over and over. Most swing voters don't have an unfavorable opinion of either Bush or Kerry so if Bush can make a good case for why swing voters should vote for him, instead of against Kerry, I think he can do pretty well. Save the attacks for after the convention.

The problem, though, with that, is that the Bush campaign has been attacking Kerry for the last several months.

The past several months- indeed, since summer of last year- it's been one Kerry attack on Bush after the other, paid for by George Soros and so on. And these attacks have been preemptive and unilateral, so to speak. We had Greg Thielman, then Joe Wilson who leaked like a buckshot bucket, Richard Clarke who flat-out lied his butt off, Beers and McGovern nipping at heels, Michael Moore spewing unfounded BS, the whole liberal media spouting the AWOL myth as if it were fact; assorted dorks including some of the above making their bombing runs funded by 'book deals,' and unending deliberate misquotes and falsehoods published by the press as each Bush cabinet member in turn was attacked.

This administration's been hit with rumors based on thin air and anonymous sources who turned out not to exist, cries that our troops would be killed by the millions with WMDs the same people later claimed did not exist, and when there weren't millions of body bags then the left erupted with claims we were going too fast, only to flip flop again and say we were stuck 'in a quagmire.' The liberals could barely conceal their glee whenever a bomb went off in Baghdad.

Then the presstitutes assailed us with the idea that Iraq had no chemical weapons because the components weren't all mixed together and loaded into shells, while dismissing big stashes of bug spray on its military bases as not extraordinary, or took two anonymous outside sources' word for it -over that of three teams of experts- that the Iraqis found in neccessary to strip, sanitize, and bury trucks for making weather balloons. The press implied that the aluminum tubing Iraq ordered didn't have anything to do with a nuke program when the same tubing had a heck of a lot to do with Libya's. What they thought all those scientists were really for, I don't know. The press in an effort to aid their lib politicians kept telling us every find was old, but forgot to mention that if that were so, then Iraq failed to report them and the UN failed to find them in over a decade of searching, and that was part of the problem.

The left dismissed as harmless missiles stored in chemical factories; told us Dr. Kay said things that he didn't; claimed there was no evidence of Iraq seeking uranium in Niger when four other countries sought it there and some, like Libya, succeeded. There were rat congressmen running out to claim they hadn't been briefed when in fact they had been briefed three times a week, or even funnier, claiming they had been misled to vote on war by a speech Bush gave months after they voted; loose-lipped congressional and bureaucratic leaks to damage our war effort, harm our allies, and undermine troops, you name it- nothing was too bad or evil for them to do if it would help unseat Bush, not even encouraging the enemy to hang on and fight harder because 'HOPE IS ON THE WAY.' If only Kerry can get elected and people like the now-disgraced Sandy Berger can be selected to serve in National Security posts and US policy on terrorism will be the domain of lawyers instead of warriors, then hope will be on the way- to the terrorists.

Kerry's only been shooting himself in the leg because of his own inability to tell the truth and taking fire from his own advisors' shenanigans, some of whom couldn't keep their hands off of government property - or at least keep it out of their pants and private offices. And now he wants a purple heart for his self-inflicted political wounds and he hasn't even been under fire in a debate. Kerry hasn't been attacked by Bush, not yet.
