"Has his French lawyer been anywhere near him?"
You actually raise a pretty good point here. I bet France and several other European countries would rather see Saddam dead than have him testifying alive. Saddam probably knows where a lot of European skeletons are buried. If Saddam is demanding to see his French lawyer he better be careful what he asks for.

I'm surprised he is still alive. There too many skeletons in the closet that Sadam can bring out into the open. Trust me, he will die before he evers see the inside of the court house by compliments of France, Germany, UN, and the "left" of the US.

Yes, I agree.
I want to see him make a full enough recovery so he can be executed later.

Saddam has had a stroke, says lawyer
Bruce Wilson
29jul04
SADDAM Hussein has suffered a stroke and could die before facing trial, a member of his legal team has claimed.
Jordanian lawyer Mohammed al-Rashdan said a brain scan had indicated the stroke.
"Our information is that he's in very poor health," he said.
This conflicts with comments this week by an Iraqi minister who visited Saddam and found him depressed but fit.
Mr Rashdan told a London newspaper he also believed an attempt could be made on Saddam's life.
"Under the Geneva Convention, we're entitled to have access to our client but all our requests have been ignored," he said.

I wanted to see him hanging from a tree in the middle of the town square in Iraq
BUMP that!
He absolutely deserves a Mussolini or Ceaucescu sendoff, bare minimum..
This would be a "stroke" of luck for all the oil-for-food tainted folks, tho. How convenient,, for them.

I thought peace-loving Saddam was tending to his garden and writing poetry? Oh he is.... it's just that they have to show him where the garden is... and where the watering can is... and how to use them. And then he's using big crayons to copy the words of Mary had a little lamb.
