HOMELAND INSECURITY

Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

That was Catalan Spanish, IIRC. Lots of spelling differences.

You mean Castillian Spanish ie formal Spanish vs say, the informal Spanish like Mexican workers speak? (Not profiling folks, this is a language discussion.)

"They'll want to make sure we're too busy recovering from millions of deaths to think about massive retaliation, against anybody, anywhere. I think that logic is flawed, but I doubt they'll see it that way."

After reading about "suitecase nukes" being lost in the early 90's and their high maintenance, I don't think they are here. The arguments against them are overwhelming. Too small and too high maintenance.

I would think that larger, lower maintained bombs would be just as easily shipped into this country. Besides Russian scientists, there are also about 20 Pakistani scientists that have "disappeared". The risk for smuggling a suitecase is about the same for a larger bomb. The large bomb has a much lower maintenance factor. Which would you put your priority on? I am basically saying that the suitcase nuke thing is not very credible. It has no support.

Catalan is a regional dialect within Spain. It's different enough to belong on the other side of the world.

"High Maintenance" doesn't apply. There are only 2 components that require replacing. These things are "lowest common denominator" maintainable.

Okay, could you elaborate on this. After hundreds of opinions, it gets to be very confusing. The opinions go from crude to the rude. A basic analysis would be helpful.

I've sen so many experts so far, it is getting to be far fetched.

Yes, the large refrigerator sized bombs with the lead shields.

Here is an image of a scanned letter that was downloaded and resized by someone over at TB2K. I'm reposting this within TB2K guidlines. The image is part of a large amount of data found on a hacked server. The letter is in Italian; an ultimatum to Italy. A translation follows the image:

In name of Allah the compassionate and merciful one

Allah is to be praised

He is the ultimate to the Italian people, o separate Mr
Berlusconi the incapable.

or explicitly we will burn Italia, this is a clear equation
that you wonder

to free Cosenza, you are by now your perception

after this, the next message he what you will see on your
earth not that one

that you will read in a situated Internet

Berlusconi still promises to alone blood and Kingdom of
Slavery total to you for the United States me memory

The great Italian journalist Antonio Russo killed by the
intelligence agencies of Putin and Perche shared the
suffering of our siblings in Cecenia where it was
welcomed

NOTE: Repeats a few lines:

Berlusconi still promises to alone blood and Kingdom of
Slavery total to you for the United States me memory

The great Italian journalist Antonio Russo killed by the
intelligence agencies of Putin and Perche shared the
suffering of our siblings in Cecenia where it was
welcomed

NOTE: END REPEAT:

Berlusconi has not moved a single finger in order to open
an inquiry for homicide
