NBC breaking says for sure it's Edwards for veep
Well, Kerry fooled me too, I thought he would go for Gebhardt as I would have in his place.
I am delighted with the pick because I do not think he brings much to the ticket. However, Kerry might be privy to some polls which reveal data we are unaware of like Edwards sex appeal with Frauen. I think he is more likely to gaff than Gebhardt and he might just over reach to compensate for his obvious lack of gravitas when confronted with Cheney.
But on the whole, I do not see the deck as having been shuffled much and certainly not stacked.
Looks like a bloody department store logo to me.
Regards, Ivan
I agree completely. It's not pessimism. The thing is obvious. If the President doesn't start fighting back he will lose a most winnable election.
People here seem to think there is a lot of hidden support for George Bush, invisible to the uninitiated. I think they're fooling themselves. The Bush campaign doesn't respond to media attacks and bias, and silence is a guilty plea in the court of public opinion.
The Lawsuit Industrys Favorite Son
Epitomizing Trial Lawyers, Inc.s drive for political influence is the career of U.S. Senator John Edwards (D-NC), a former personal-injury lawyer. Campaigning for the Senate in 1998, Edwards received more than half his total outside contributions from his friends in the lawsuit in-dustry.[182] Edwards has in turn enthusiastically supported key provisions backed by Trial Lawyers, Inc., including helping to defeat proposed limi-tations on personal-injury lawsuits in the event of a terrorist attack and seeking to make it easier to sue health maintenance organizations.[183]
Although Edwardss 2004 presidential run seems thus far to be floundering, his campaign certainly opened eyes to the political power of Trial Lawyers, Inc.: by the end of the first quarter of 2003, Edwards topped all 2004 Democratic presidential hopefuls in fund-raisingwith almost two-thirds of the $7.4 million he had raised coming from trial lawyers, their families, and their staffs.[184] As noted by the Wall Street Journal, even political professionals seem[ed] stunned by the degree to which his candidacy ha[d] become a wholly owned financial subsidiary of the national tort bar.[185]

There's nothing I'd love to see better than a Cheney/Edwards debate. Besides making the experience and 'gravitas' gap apparent, Cheney'd probably rip Edwards a new one.
Bush personifying our old values, Yes. Makes the target easier to hit, but there'll be ten to take his place if they bring him down.
Welcome aboard, did you bring your kevlar vest? I have an extra tin foil hat.
There is no value addressing my remarks to you anymore. We had few exchanges in different posts earlier this year and you still the same negative guy who I am sure would like to see President Bush defeated. It is good to let people on FR know who you really are. Again come November, you will be greatly disappointed because President Bush will win and wins big.
If they win, that's where the country will go "to the crapper" x 2!
:o)
(Boy.. that's sure a grim thought)
A win-win either way.
I could say something about the fact that both seats are down, but that would be beneath me :-)
So instead you will post furtively about me.
jveritas, profile in courage.
LOL! Photoshop Snake-eyes and Box Cars on the seats and you'll have a double crapper.
I can't wait to see Cheney slap pretty boy around.
Way to go, Dems:
SpongeBob and Squidwards in 2004!
Just out of curiousity Dales, do you think that this will (temporarily) push NC into the Kerry column. The last poll you posted for NC (my state BTW) showed a 47-42 Bush advantage. I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry went up in NC in the next big poll, but only by a point or two-within the MOE. In any event I doubt that Kerry takes NC when all is said and done, but I am interested in any thoughts you mught have.
Swell. I need the kevlar vest and you can spare some tin foil origami.
;)
President Bush will win in November. America is not going to elect the most liberal, flip flopers, hypocrite, boring junior Senator from Massachusetts.
