Be prepared for Bush to counter with Giuliani or McCain as his running mate. Probably McCain because he's viewed as strong on defense but also diplomatic. Go W Go!!

The last thing we need is a statist gun-grabber for VP.

Edwards was plenty stupid in the primaries. He didn't even know the details on legistlation that was being debated. Can't remember the exact bill, be he quoted it completely backwards.

Some sources are saying Gephardt, some are saying Edwards. True to form, Lurch can't even announce his choice for VP without confusion and apparent flip flopping between possible candidates.

If something happens with Cheney, and Dubya needs a new VP, McCain will be a desperation pick, IMHO. It would be Guilani or Rice.

Well I might agree with Morris' comment about the GOP and the trial lawyers, but then again he was so off with mark with his Hillary prediction that who really cares what he thinks. Just another mouthpiece for the left really.

Thanks for warning me to move my beverage of choice (orange juice, this morn) to a safe distance. That's a real knee-slapper :-)

Seriesly, it's not as outrageous as it first seems. Of course, Ralph Mouth still needs to make it onto ballots the hard way, and he's already NOT going to be in Arizona.

Hey Howlin, do you think Kerry and Edwards will sing "Just a Gigolo" together at the conclusion of the DNC convention? Just a thought, but you never know it might happen.

It is not my history. Kennedy needed Texas.

To suggest that Kennedy chose Johnson for VP to put him on ice is ludicrous.

No surprise here.

This was decided back when Edwards was invited to the Bildergroup meeting a couple months back.

You know, that group that only exists in the minds of us tinfoil hat folks?

Also from that WSJ article:

Should Democrats care? After all, big business is hardly their natural constituency. The Chamber of Commerce will never be a hotbed of Democratic support. And the number of chief executives in the elite Business Roundtable who will vote for Sen. Kerry, regardless of his running mate, can be counted on Fannie Mae CEO Frank Raines's right hand -- with digits to spare.

But party wisdom that's been passed down by former Democratic National Committee Chairman Robert Strauss, and now resides with Democratic economic guru Robert Rubin, is that big business does matter to Democrats. To be successful, a Democratic presidential candidate doesn't need the active support of America's CEOs, but he does need to keep them on the sidelines. Jimmy Carter lost his bid for re-election at least in part because business was determined to dump him. Bill Clinton won election and re-election at least in part because the business community, while not strongly supportive, wasn't threatened by him.

"About the 1960 election, it has been said that it was the Calvary and Union districts(cemeteries) of Chicago that pulled it out for Kennedy."

True, but there's two other words that really made the difference: Tony Accardo
