Kerry is bloody Prufrock - "In a minute there is time for a hundred decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse"

Methinks you nailed Ketchup Boy.

How many times did Edwards say he wasn't interested in a VP spot?

"Another John-John going down in flames"

You know, I should feel ashamed for that.

But I don't.

And I call it! If anybody else, anywhere, says it, I'm gonna sue! I've got Edwards on retainer.

This is going to be fun to watch. I also don't think the girlfriend problem is over for Kerry.

That's what I remember most about Edwards - that disgusting "common folks vs. the Evil Rich" stump speech. Absolute pandering to the stupid. I'll bet the reasoning behind Lurch's decision was simply that Edwards is young and pretty, and X amount of Stupid Females are going to vote for him because... well, he's young and pretty... with the race so close, he doesn't need much to get him over the winning line, and he might have just felt this is it.

Personally, I would rather have seen Gephardt, just in case... I can't believe anyone could seriously make a case that Edwards is in any way qualified to run the country.

Edwards made gobs of money as a slick trial lawyer.

Cheney made bigger gobs, I believe. And Kerry out-earned both of them without working a day for it. So what?

Edwards is an empty suit. I haven't felt so relieved since Dean imploded.

Not to mention -- the LABOR UNIONS are probably going to be PISSED because they were demanding Gephardt as the VP candidate.

Both Kerry and Edwards have been AWOL from their Senate jobs, yet continue collecting...and keeping...their Senate salaries

Very true, but how does that translate into Edwards not being your Senator because he is running as Kerry's VP, which was my question to the poster who said she was delighted Edwards would NOT be her/your Senator?

They may be two Johns, but at least one of them is a gigolo.

Kennedy also picked Johnson to help carry the South. It was still a viable strategy back then.

But not now.

Adn don't forget the Deaniacs. They're going to be enraged by this choice.

Heck, the Pubbies figure we conservatives have no place to go. I'm not surprised that the DemonRATs assume the same with their OLD constituency (especially since all the money is in the trial lawyers' hands now).

Johnson had some support, but he never actually declared as a candidate. In some states, he came in as high as fourth as a write-in. But it would be a real stretch to say he was #2 in the primaries.
