FBI urges vigilance for July 4

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

OFFICIALS WON'T CONFIRM IF IRAQ NUCLEAR AND RADIOLOGICAL MATERIALS ARE IN OAK RIDGE

The things Iraq could have used to build weapons of mass destruction may now be in East Tennessee.

The Department of Energy shipped radiological and nuclear material from Iraq to the US about two weeks ago, including low-enriched uranium.

The Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge is the main storage facility for uranium in the U.S.

The Department of Energy will not confirm if any of the Iraqi material is in Oak Ridge. A local spokesperson referred Action Ten News to the National Nuclear Security Administration.

"I can not confirm where it is, but it is being held at secure DOE locations," says NNSA Spokesperson Bryan Wilkes in Washington, DC.

The uranium was low-enriched uranium that Wilkes says could not be used in a nuclear weapon, but he says the radiological material could have been used in a dirty bomb.

Y12 dismantled some nuclear material from Libya in March.

I've been doing a little research. Looks like July 13-15 is the expiration date of UBL's offer of a truce.

AQ said they would warn before the attacks were to begin, and I seem to remember some speculation that UBL would issue a warning before the next strike.

I dont consider EOM reliable, so I am sticking with the latest releases. Makes me wonder if a UBL tape is due to be released pronto?

Reading some of the articles you linked and it is breathtaking how terrorism (and our response to it) has already changed the face of most every sector in our society. It is nearly mainstreamed now.

It didn't take long before alJazeera, the anti-American, pro-jihadist arab "news" network offered their own "hagiography" which can be seen as an unqualified endorsement of Kerry/Edwards.

This is the same network that prasied bin Laden's 9/11 attacks, commends al-Zarqawi for the beheadings of Americans, and condemned GW Bush for his leadership in the liberation of Iraq and imprisonment of Saddam Hussein.

When the avowed enemies of the US endorse a Democratic Ticket, America's choice in Nov should be abundantly clear.

Um.... Actually I would've reacted the same way. Some things are bigger than others. I criticized him, I detested him, I had my (at the time) 5 year old boy ask me what "oral sex" was because of him. To my mind he was an absolute disgrace to this nation. But... He was the president.
