FBI urges vigilance for July 4
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

Thanks. You are quite right. Went on the antibiotic Ampicillan though I usually prefer not to. And, doing the zinc spray on my throat which chose an ungood time to get sore! Don't like that combination. I think sore throats are usually viruses! Sigh.
Anyway--God will be with me. Hopefully, Tuesday can get the tooth tended to.
GREATLY APPECIATE YOUR THOUGHTFUL CARING. May all your relationships enjoy rich fellowship this holiday.
Yep, another jerk.
I think the information at the bottom of the Internet Haganah.US is very informative.

"This is interesting they left out Allah."
OPINION-SPECULATION: The word "Allah" probably wasn't in their translator.
That is a good suggestion.
Have a good Independence Day Jill.

BLUSH, THANKS MUCH.
A MAJOR CONCERN OF MINE . . . CHILDREN OF ALL AGES.
I think we need to train our children in triage kinds of decision trees.
MOST, OF COURSE, TRAIN THEM TO HEAR AND OBEY THE STILL SMALL VOICE OF THE LORD.
However, I think there are some other sorts of preparations we can give them in terms of some SOUND SORTS OF THINKING in certain kinds of crises situations. AND TRIAGE is one sort of thinking that can be essential in some contexts.
ALSO, TO INCLUDE IN SUCH TRAINING, CREATIVE BRAINSTORMING ABOUT THE SORTS OF PRAYERS AND CREATIVE COOPERATING WITH HOLY SPIRIT IN POTENTIALLY SUPERNATURAL WAYS. I believe Holy Spirit will be delighted to do many supernatural things never done before. But if people aren't taught to think outside the box, they won't know how or won't think to cooperate with what Holy Spirit might be ready to do.
I think it's crucial to teach kids when and when not to resist 'proper' authority and how to judge when authority is bein proper and improper.
In terms of the emotional dis-ease from terror--I think REALITY THINKING can be crucial--that is, focus on concrete reality and the next important decision/action; then the next one etc. until one is out of the situation.
AND TO TRAIN OURSELVES AND OUR KIDS THAT WHILE EMOTIONS CAN BE IMPORTANT, THEY MAY BE LUXURIES WE HAVEN'T TIME TO ATTEND TO PROPERLY IN SOME CONTEXTS. And therefore what to do in those contexts. And how to deal with emotions after one is out of the situation.
One thing that can be done is to quickly notice what one has noticed most vividly--which will differ for each person. And use one's naturally vividly remembered memory cues as cues to later process the emotions.
For example, maybe re 911 it may have been people falling from/jumping from the windows; Rummy helping initially at the Pentegon etc.
So, then--take a mental image of someone jumping/falling fromt he window and write down in a blank journal just free association feelings, thoughts etc. related to that vivid memory hook. Then do the same for the next one. And the next one until all the most vivid ones have been annotated.
Then put the book away--even if it's only in one's backpack or some such. Allow one's self only specific times of specific durations to look at it. Make new entries as fitting. Refuse to allow one's self to wallow in destructive emotions or images unless and until it's productive or very limited--perhaps say in 5 min chunks. Schedule those times. Protect other times fiercely insisting on functional emotionality and prompt decision making.
IF one is sooooo debilitated by emotions that one is not functional--seek out someone to commiserate with. If no one is available, and the best one can do is curl up in a foetal position on the floor and cry or moan--then do that--do it vividly, even excessively, exaggeratedly. BUT SET MAYBE A WATCH ALARM OR KITCHEN TIMER AND PURPOSE FIERCELY IN YOUR HEART AND MIND THAT WHEN THE ALARM RINGS, YOU'LL GET QUICKLY UP and
DO SOMETHING CONCRETE even if it is only taking the garbage out and doing that takes an unreasonable 30 minutes. It's important to get the body moving. IF POSSIBLE, ASSIST SOMEONE ELSE EVEN IF IT'S ONLY WORDLESSLY PUTTING A HAND ON THE SHOULDERS.
ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL THINGS TO AVOID WALLOWING IN PAIN AND DEPRESSION IS TO *FORCE* YOURSELF TO HELP OTHERS--IN WHATEVER MEAGER OR NOT SO MEAGER WAYS YOU CAN.
PLEASE, AVOID patting someone on the back. RUB THE BACK with an up/down or circular motion. Patting communicates mostly that the pattER is nervous and wants to get away. Also, have someone pat you on the head. It's very uncomfortable, jarring. Avoid patting people and dogs. Rub, instead; scratch soothingly instead. Massage, instead.
When kids can even remotely emotionally deal with the fact that you might end up sepearted in a crisis--and maybe even when they can't well--BRIEF THEM AND REPEATEDLY DRILL OR REVIEW WITH THEM WHAT TO DO IN DIFFERENT CONTEXTS. TEACH THEM WHAT SORT OF PERSONS TO SEEK OUT FOR HELP AND ASSOCIATION. TEACH THEM HOW TO TEST OUT EARLY WHETHER THEY'VE MADE A GOOD CHOICE.
Teach kids how to handle discovering they've made a mistake--in choosing people to associate with; in choosing a direction to travel; in choosing things to take and leave behind etc. How to recover from a flawed decision in a crisis.
Could probably go on and on in this vein but I'll stop until someone has a particular question.
BE SAFE. BUT TRAIN KIDS THAT IN TERMS OF ETERNAL VALUES AND LIVING ETERNALLY WITH GOD, SOME THINGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAFETY.

THANKS AND BEST TO YOU AND YOURS THIS HOLIDAY.
SOMETIME in the past 24 hours have begun to feel that we'll get through this holiday without massive devastation. I attribute it mostly to intercessor prayer warriors. A fellow prayer warrior at church also felt similarly.
We shall see!
Certainly it doesn't mean we are out of the woods by any means. Anything not done sooner is only stored up with interest by the Jihadi's for later. imho.
THX. LIKEWISE TO YOU AND YOURS.
Given that NYC is likely to get blown away at some point in the not too distant future . . . having the UN go with it could be a blessing.
However, many contend that the new Parliment building in Australia is too big and grand for Australia and has, in fact, to these sources, been built for the global government.
I pray not!
Then there's the Biblical 7 hills prophecy about said global government.
LOL.
THANKS TONS.
WAS ALREADY carrying you around in my head telling me to do that at virtually every med time!
PLEASE flinch in private messages WHERE the rest of my comment will be.
